"I know I'm a Catholic, and it wouldn't have bothered me to vote for him if I was on the board, and I thought he was otherwise a good citizen," said Noel, in an interview from his home in Florida. "The Supreme Court has said that abortion is legal, and we should all follow the Supreme Court and not our partucualr religious convictions."

Another Catholic In Name Only. It's people like this guy, that caused me to leave the Catholic Church years ago. I'm not "Catholic" bashing here. I loved the Church greatly. But these CINO's were the overwhelming majority in the Church that I attended, were very outspoken, and I just couldn't take it anymore.

Traditional Catholics (who maintain that abortion is wrong, support life and hold to Church teachings) are the salt of the earth, IMO.

But scum like this guy, really tee me off.....

We wouldn't be hearing these bone headed statements if our bishops were doing their duty to teach and preach. Compare the comments above to these comments by former president of the Nat'l Catholic Conf of Bishops (NCCB) Bishop Donald Troutman:

"I have a lot of respect for him, but we differ on one issue." Ridge is welcome to celebrate Mass and participate in church sacraments, says Trautman. "These events are highly personal matters between the governor and God," says the bishop.

Troutman was referring to Ridge's pro-abort voting record. Former PA Gov Ridge, now direktor of Homeland Sekurity, had a 100% pro-abort voting record as a US Congressman.
