Mark of the Beast on Fast Track

Bush briefly discussed the ID card option with British Prime Minister Tony Blair, according to insiders. "I can tell you this, the president is very reluctant [to issue a national ID card]," a top White House source said on Sunday. "But we must look at all options." Just as House Democratic Leader Richard Gephardt [D-MO] says Congress should quickly move to open debate on security measures such as a national ID card. "We are in a new world," Gephardt said. "This event will change the balance between freedom and security." The Clinton Administration then extracted the various pieces from the various bills, two of which were illegally passed, and assigned the task to implementing a national drivers license (a clone of the European Union national ID card) to the National Transportation Safety Board. The internal passport will go into effect on October 1, 1999. In 1996 when Congress passed the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act. certain guidelines found in Section 656 (b) of the act. Federal agencies will be required to prohibit the use of state drivers licenses beginning Oct. 1, 2000, unless they comply with the federal standards. The new licenses must use the Social Security number as the driver's license number, for example. The act also calls for digitized biometric information to be a part of each license, or "smart card." Former Secretary of Defense William Cohen said Americans will be forced to make "choices between security and civil liberties." NBC's Tom Brokaw said, "We're going to have to reconsider a lot of our freedoms because of our attack." Representive Frank D. Lucas (R-OK) said, "If we were going to be absolutely safe, we'd have to restrict people's freedoms to the point that it wouldn't be America anymore."

Cards are hard to wear on your forehead or hand. But certainly all the technology to make it happen has been in place for years.

"Cards are hard to wear on your forehead or hand."

The card may not be worn there, but that certainly is where the biometric data is gathered from! Think retnal scan and thumbprint, then recall that the Revelation 13 passage about the mark of the beast was written in the late first century, where John had very little understanding of the technology that he was prophetically shown. It isn't a big leap in logic to presume that these biometric marks are what he was referring to. Time will tell though.

As for me...no way...no retnal scan, no thumbprint for any such ID card. Considering that those who accept thsi mark are irrevocably damned...well...wouldn't be prudent.

I would take the mark for you and others who need to be free as long as possible.

As a pre-tribulationist, I'll not worry my pretty little head about it. I don't plan to be around here for those years.

You would exchange one prison for a worse one, and one you could never escape from. It isn't freedom (though that is what is promised), it is damnation for eternity.

You're a little late...

THE HISTORY OF THE ISLAMIC DINAR AND DIRHAM

In the beginning the Muslims used gold and silver by weight and the dinar and dirhams that they used were made by the Persians.

The first dated coins that can be assigned to the Muslims are copies of silver dirhams of the Sassanian Yezdigird III, struck during the Khalifate of Uthman, radiy'allahu anhu. These coins differ from the original ones in that an Arabic inscription is found in the obverse margins, normally reading "in the Name of Allah". Since then the writing in Arabic of the Name of Allah and parts of Qur'an on the coins became a custom in all mintings made by Muslims.

Under what was known as the coin standard of the Khalif Umar Ibn al-Khattab, the weight of 10 dirhams was equivalent to 7 dinars (mithqals) In the year 75 (695 CE) the Khalifah Abdalmalik ordered Al-Hajjaj to mint the first dirhams, thus he established officially the standard of Umar Ibn al-Khattab. In the next year he ordered the dirhams to be minted in all the regions of the Dar al-Islam. He ordered that the coins be stamped with the sentence: "Allah is Unique, Allah is Eternal". He ordered the removal of human figures and animals from the coins and that they be replaced with letters.

This command was then carried on throughout all the history of Islam. The dinar and the dirham were both round, and the writing was stamped in concentric circles. Typically on one side it was written the "tahlil" and the "tahmid", that is, "la ilaha ill'Allah" and "alhamdulillah"; and on the other side was written the name of the Amir and the date. Later on it became common to introduce the blessings on the Prophet, salla'llahu alayhi wa sallam, and sometimes, ayats of the Qur'an.

Gold and silver coins remained official currency until the fall of the Khalifate. Since then, dozens of different paper currencies were made in each of the new postcolonial national states created from the dismemberment of Dar al-Islam.

Your post is certainly dated--but the danger hasn't gone away. I just heard public radio yesterday quote Jerkowitz: "The Constitution may guarantee privacy but NOT annonymity." Then another "expert" said: "The nat'l ID would do away with RACIAL PROFILING."(!!)

Wrong on both. Nowhere toes the Constitution guarantee privacy nor would the card do away with racial profiling. Quite the opposite.

A mark of the beast that is all too common nowadays is the "rubber stamp"--as in,AMEN to "I'm from the Government, and I'm here to help."

Getting a retnal scan is hardly accepting the "mark". The nation ID card I will oppose but accept if passed. The Mark, any mark upon my body I will not accept period.

Cards could rapidly evolve into barcodes. It could be implanted or tatooed invisibly and you would be scanned like a tomato at Krogers. The retina scan or thumbprint seems less intrusive.

Sci-Fi, horror movies come to life. How about our commandoes targeting drone rocket attacks while riding horseback with NA cavalry charge? Who would've thunk it 5 years ago?

Actually, we already have a national ID card it's called your social security number. Who's to say that our Social Security Card will be what allows us to buy sell or trade?

A few years ago I listened to a tape of a guy named Carl Sanders who claimed to have been in on the research for the microchip technology you're referring to. Just now I did a quick search for something on this and found this which may interest you.

Could This Be The Mark Of The Beast?

The bad mark

Revelation 13:16
He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, 17 so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.
18 This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666.

The Good Mark

Exodus 13:16 And it will be like a sign on your hand and a symbol on your forehead that the LORD brought us out of Egypt with his mighty hand."

Notice the chapter & verse, both 13:16!
How do you get the good mark?

Exodus 13:9 This observance will be for you like a sign on your hand and a reminder on your forehead that the law of the LORD is to be on your lips. For the LORD brought you out of Egypt with his mighty hand.

Deuteronomy 11:18 Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.

Study, Read the word!!!

How do you get the bad mark?

Koran.048
48.29: Muhammad is the Apostle of Allah, and those with him are firm of heart against the unbelievers, compassionate among themselves; you will see them bowing down, prostrating themselves, seeking grace from Allah and pleasure; their marks are in their faces because of the effect of prostration; that is their description in the Taurat and their description in the Injeel; like as seed-produce that puts forth its sprout, then strengthens it, so it becomes stout and stands firmly on its stem, delighting the sowers that He may enrage the unbelievers on account of them; Allah has promised those among them who believe and do good, forgiveness and a great reward.

Ouch! That's gonna hurt.

Thanks, Yank. As one involved in the dog world, we've been doing this to pups for well over a decade now. Networks of scanners in vet offices, humane societies, pounds, etc. around the country have a simple piece of hand-held equipment to read a stray. Some still choose the old tattoo method, but it's become pretty uncommon now.

The difficulty in resisting such an implant is not really as hard on adults, but for their children and babies. Such tribulation chaos would certainly require parents who became believers during that period to live outside the system of hospitals and schools. It will be very difficult for them.
