THE DEFINITION OF “DOMESTIC TERRORISM”

THE DEFINITION OF “DOMESTIC TERRORISM”
Yesterday I mentioned a brochure someone sent me from the Phoenix FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force. This is a brochure handed out to law enforcement officers in the Phoenix area to help them identify potential “domestic terrorists.”

The brochure starts out with “If you encounter any of the following, call the Joint Terrorism Task Force. The brochure then proceeds to set forth certain things that the law enforcement officers need to look for. They include ….

Pretty good stuff, huh? Let’s say you’re stopped by the cops and they want to search your car. You cite your Constitutional right to be free from unreasonable search and seizure and ask the cop why he stopped you and what he is looking for. Suddenly your name is reported to a terrorism task force.

Is any of this beginning to sound just a little frightening to you?

Well .. let’s read some more from the brochure:

“The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force is attempting to identify criminal activities with domestic terrorists. In this regard, the purpose of this information sheet is to assist uniformed patrol officers in identifying potential domestic terrorists.
”Domestic terrorism is defined as: Groups or individuals operating entirely inside the US, attempting to influence the US government or population to effect political or social change by engaging in criminal activity.”

Do you need to read that again? Go ahead, I’ll wait.

Break this down. Any individual who violates a law in an attempt to influence the government or other people in an attempt to produce some political or social change is a domestic terrorist. Some examples:
  1. You make an illegal campaign contribution
  2. You trespass on private property while engaged in a demonstration
  3. You remove campaign yard signs erected by a politician you don’t support
  4. You illegally place campaign signs in the highway right-of-way
  5. You withhold a percentage of your income taxes to protest military spending
All of the above actions fit easily into the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force definition and thus make you a “domestic terrorist” according to this brochure.

If you aren’t starting to get a little concerned about our civil liberties at this point, you’re either a leftist or you’re asleep.

I'm in the hills in Arkansas. Most of the 'natives' here aren't real fond of the fedgov to start with, but some extra pushing by them is liable to get mean pretty quick.

There's an area fenced in with the upper runs of barbed wire facing in near here. About 25-30 acres with a very servicable incinerator left over from some superfund cleanup. Railspur beside it's in new condition. Wonder what the plan is? :-)

"The FBI will become the gestapo for the AntiChrist system worldwide if it stays on its present course.

Nah! We've just elected a President who "strongly" believes in "smaller" government and the Constitution and the individual freedoms and liberties it guarantees......

Darn! Where did I put the rest of that LSD?

You remove campaign yard signs erected by a politician you don’t support

Wow. We get SO bent out of shape when the liberals do this to us, but if WE do it, why, It's For The Cause And Thus It's OK.

Say, do you think they passed a Law against that?

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if any or all of what you asked about was done. When you have people frequenting the premier conservative website online who can't even discuss the Constitution intelligently, it makes you wonder just who is going to preserve our form of government.

The government officials have proven that they have no intention of keeping our republican form of government. Liberals and communists are openly dedicated to subverting our system of government. Meanwhile, those who call themselves "conservatives" because they belong to a party which gives lip service to conservative values, are applauding the subversion of our form of government by their party memebers in office.

I wonder if those of us who respect and value the form of government laid out in the Constitution amount to as many people as those who fought the war of independence. I hope we do, or it'll be a hard thing, preserving what was handed down to us.

I doubt it. This is the same website that discusses the newsworthiness of Victoria's Secret, Recipes, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez and what Rush and Drudge just said.

And even if they could get by the fluff they would have to laugh at the backbiting and petty bickering.

"Guess it's time to remove that pocket Constitution from my glove box."

To borrow a line from the past and to insert a word:

When they remove the "Constitution" from my cold dead hands....

I have two of those pocket constitutions on my computer desk in plain sight. Now what do I do?

Maybe they will be worth something when the police inaugurate their annual 'constitution buy back month' where we can all sell our constitutions to the government and get them off the streets. You never know when one will fall into the wrong hands and cause harm.

How many members of FreeRepublic will now be added to the FBI's domestic terrorist list because of their complaints that the agencies in the Federal government, FBI and DOJ and CIA and BATF etc are not upholding the COnstitution in deference to the UN or world government?

Lots.

Lots.
And there are no visiting angels that are going to tell anyone to leave. Besides, where would one go?
I know, I know...it was Lot, no "s", but it made me laugh when I thought of it.

Funny you should mention that, as my spousal unit once made an ill-fated call to the dial a nurse, in which she let slip that our children had not had all their vaccinations.
The person on the other end launched into a long diatribe that ended "I bet you probably home-school, too."
At this point, said spousal unit hung up, after saying, "as a matter of fact..." We were nervous for several days, with appriate mapping and regrouping strategies in place.
