Look at Rice as if she were in your party

If she weren't a Republican, we black folks would be praying for her strength and celebrating how happy the elders must be looking down on her.

Just imagine, a little black girl who grew up in segregated schools in Birmingham, Ala., who became provost at Stanford University.

Interesting. I was wondering if the black community was ever going to realize what gem Condi is for this country. Now they have to start to look again at Clarence Thomas and realize that there IS a black Supreme Court Justice who is probably one of the best thought of justices on the bench. They should take pride in the accomplishments of these wonderful people.

Isn't it ironic that the first black Sec. of State is a Republican and that the person who is most influencing US foreign policy, the most powerful woman in the country in the eyes of the rest of the world, is not only black woman but a Republican black woman serving at the behest of a Republican president. It's about time that the black community realize that the first black vice-presidential or presidential nominee is most likely to run with an (R) behind his/her name.

Looks like the real party of diversity and opportunity is the Republican party, not the Democrats who are so willing to cater to them before an election and leave them segregated behind the ranks of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton four weeks later.

And you (you = black voters) might ask yourselves these questions: Why do we robotically vote for the Demorat Party when they have never appointed anyone to such a high position? Why do we love Klintoon when the best he could do was appoint the (mysteriously late) Ron Brown to the cermonial position of Secretary of Commerce?

I remember reading an interview with Condi Rice in which the interviewer asked her something about how amazing it is that as a black woman, she's come so far. She responded, "What do you mean, I've come so far? I'm fourth-generation college-educated!" I think the notion that a black woman can't get anywhere in this country offends her. I thought that was great!

I can imagine the Hildebeast walking away funny after a debate with Dr. Rice. And after the election. It is to laugh, how the leftists claim conservatives "hate strong, intelligent women" or "want to opress all females and keep them tied to the kitchen" when women like Dr. Rice, Lady Thatcher, both Bush first ladies seem to have no problems. Note to Commies: It's not the sex, stupid, it's the person.
I'm still waiting to see a strong, intelligent leftist woman...

I'm serious, man. Leftist women seem to think they're ENTITLED to consideration based upon their existence and their shrillness. Both are annoying and neither indicate strength or intelligence. Instead they indicate self-centered whining idiocy. Just compare, say, the Hildebeast and Lady Thatcher for class, steadiness, brains, and all other leadership qualities. Even if one is a liberal, the winner is painfully obvious.

Oh, it's OK to say it. We know how hard it is. She has to explain foreign policy to a former Texas governor whose struggle with global affairs and pronunciation of foreign countries has been the butt of jokes.

What I want to know is, if Dubya's so STOOPID,how did he get the sense enough to pick these most brilliant of people to be in his cabinet. And if he's so STOOPID, why did they consent to work for him, HUH? Well, WE know the answer, and it's about time a larger number of black Americans got off the liberal plantation and discovered it for themselves!

Thanks HLL for posting this wonderful article. I hope Condi will be our next president, after 8 years of W.

I just sent Ms. Riley an e-mail letting her know how impressed I was, that she had the smartness to buck the black community. Here's another article on Condi, rather old but very informative.
+++++++++++++
BUSH'S SECRET WEAPON

Condoleezza Rice discusses her candidate's strong foreign policy convictions, but it's clear she's the brains of the operation.

By Steve Kettmann

March 20, 2000 | As much as Americans like to ignore foreign policy -- and did, for the most part, during the primary battles -- the next president will be tested often in this area. Now that George W. Bush has clinched the Republican nomination, attention has turned to those who would be in his cabinet. His chief foreign policy advisor, Condoleezza Rice, has come under increasing scrutiny.

Rice would be a daring choice for secretary of state, given that she's only 45 and shy on high-level diplomatic experience. But if Bush wins, she would be in line for that or another top job. Bush's many foreign policy gaffes guarantee he will face heavy pressure to prove he's smarter on world affairs than he sounds.

Rice, a Russia expert and former Stanford University provost, went to work in the White House in 1989 as National Security Council director of Soviet and East European Affairs, and stayed until March 1991. If words like "lightweight" keep coming up to describe Rice's candidate, no one has described her that way.

Jay Nordlinger predicted last summer in the National Review that given her combination of charm, intelligence and charisma, she will be "rock-star big" if she were to become our first African-American secretary of state. "A major cultural figure, adorning the bedroom walls of innumerable kids and the covers of innumerable magazines."

Former President Bush could not have been more flattering in introducing Rice to Mikhail Gorbachev in December 1989. "This is Condoleezza Rice," he said. "She tells me everything I know about the Soviet Union." Rice is indeed tight with the governor. A report released last week listing the names of overnight guests at the governor's mansion showed Rice to be one of the most frequent visitors.

In a recent phone interview, Rice recalled her rise to political renown. She was born in Birmingham, Ala., in 1954, and since both parents were teachers, education was a major theme of her youth. So was faith. Her father, John Rice, was an ordained Presbyterian minister, as well as dean of Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, and later vice chancellor of the University of Denver. He was also a Republican who influenced the political thinking of his daughter, who calls herself an "all-over-the-map Republican." Rice considers herself "very conservative" on foreign policy but "almost shockingly libertarian" or "moderate" on some issues.

A gifted student who skipped two grades, Rice enrolled at the University of Denver when she was 15, and graduated when she was 19. She gave up on a career as a pianist midway through, and eventually wound up falling under the spell of Josef Korbel, a former Czech diplomat best known for being the father of Madeleine Albright. Rice sometimes dined at the Korbel home, along with the future secretary of state -- but emerged with views much more in line with Korbel's than Albright's.

"I am a realist," she told the National Review. "Power matters. But there can be no absence of moral content in American foreign policy, and, furthermore, the American people wouldn't accept such an absence. Europeans giggle at this and say we're naive and so on, but we're not Europeans, we're Americans -- and we have different principles."

Rice balances a knack for making her presence felt without being aggressive. "She doesn't seem to try to push herself forward in any particular way," former Secretary of State George Shultz told Time magazine last year. "But she has such a level of capability ... that she winds up getting asked to do all sorts of things."

Where other Republican foreign policy intellectuals have often gone out of their way to offend people (anyone remember Jeane Kirkpatrick?), Rice mixes confidence and a light touch, as she made clear in a recent interview. Recalling the time she met Russia's acting president, Vladimir Putin, at a reception (when Putin was working for the mayor of St. Petersburg), Rice insisted he would not remember her. Right. No doubt he meets smart, charming, Russian-speaking Americans with names like Condoleezza all the time. (The name, by the way, came from her mother, like Rice a pianist, who made a variation on the musical direction con dolcezza, or "with sweetness.")

Rice also likes to pay her respects, as she did in naming Harry Truman her man of the century to Time. He "somehow made sense of what America's role in the world ought to be under the most difficult of circumstances, when it would have been easy for the United States to withdraw," she said. "I look to the people of that era in amazement and wonderment at what they were able to do."

She first came to Stanford in 1981 as a fellow in the arms control and disarmament program after earning a master's from Notre Dame and a doctorate from the University of Denver's graduate school of international studies.

Her mentor at Stanford, Coit Blacker, has described what intrigued her academic colleagues about her. "I think what struck people at the time was a combination of all the personal stuff -- charm and very gracious personality," Blacker, deputy director of Stanford's Institute for International Studies, recently told the Stanford Daily. He said Rice possesses "a kind of intellectual agility mixed with velvet-glove forcefulness."

Most powerful black man in america (or at least in government) Clarance Thomas (R); second most powerful Colin Powell (R); most powerful black woman in america (besides Oprah) Condi Rice (R). Yet the punks at the NAACP have no problem running the 'dragged by chains behind a truck" commercial against Bush.

Look at Rice as if she were in your party

I think the title of this article is as least as revealing as anything contained within it. Even in this half-hearted attempt at embracing a truely remarkable individual, the author can't bring herself to admit that some blacks might actually consider the Republican party to be "their party". Riley would rather pretend that Condi was a Democrat than acknowlege that the Republicans are capable of fielding top-notch people.

In the event Cheney steps down, the choice of a replacement, from all i've seen and digested in the press, would likely be between her and Colin Powell. Bush would be mad not to pick one of them, and I for one would love to see the Slimeocrat's faces at the announcement, especially if it's Dr. Rice. I, too, was VERY offended by the by now completely discredited slur that GW is too dumb to be president. This article is generally favorable to Condi, BUT ONLY BECAUSE SHE'S BLACK.

The black community must finally come to realize that they are unhyphenated Americans first. People should be revered for their accomplishments regardless of their race or anything else that labels them as different. I found the assumption that Condi Rice rose out of the slums just because she's black, a particularly insulting and demeaning stereotype.

Perhaps if blacks figure out that the story of Condi Rice is not a black story or even a black woman story, but an American story, then, the culture of victimization that their masters in the Democratic party have nurtured so carefully has a chance of being dismantled and more blacks will see that any American can be anything he or she is physically and intellectually capable of becoming.

To make a gross generalization, blacks are the most reliable faction of the Democratic party, but they get nothing for it (except for Al and Jesse (who are only out to feather their own nests with cash and influence), the always adorable Maxine Waters (the poster child for the arrogance of the truly STOOPID), and the dubious benefits of "affirmative action" a/k/a racial quotas). They have willing shackled themselves to a party that has absolutely no respect for them. If blacks want a piece of the American dream, they have to think for themselves and choose to join society, not segregate themselves from it.

Here you have this writer, Rochelle Riley, who lays out for all to see, the brilliance and work ethic of a black women who worked her way up to one of the most important roles in America's history. And this black women, Condoleeza Rice, chooses to be a Republican. Wouldn't you think Riley would ask herself why?

"Let's see: Condoleeza Rice is a Republican, and she is brilliant. I, Rochelle Riley, who cannot hold a candle to Condoleeza Rice in any way, am a Democrat. Ummm.... duh.... My brain is exploding."

Condoleezza Rice and the Stanford spy ring
"In 1996, Rice was involved in the largest Chinese army penetration of the Clinton administration. To this day, Condoleezza Rice will not answer questions about her service at Stanford with Chinese Army spy Hua Di."

…Rice reportedly is also close with former Clinton Secretary of Defense Dr. William Perry. Rice worked with Perry and the Clinton administration during her term at Stanford. Clinton insiders have also mentioned her as being on the short list for Secretary of State."

The truth about Chinese defector Hua Di
"On Jan. 6, 1998, Hua was arrested and charged with passing state secrets to U.S. officials. Stanford officials and John Lewis have written to the Chinese government appealing for Hua's release.

Stanford Provost Condoleezza Rice said professor John Lewis "had provided evidence to the fact that the source materials for publications written by him and Mr. Hua were provided by approved Chinese authorities or already were available through the Stanford University library."

Spying for fun and profit
"Stanford University officials and Dr. John Lewis have written to the Chinese government appealing for Hua Di's release. In 1998, then Stanford Provost Condoleezza Rice said Professor John Lewis "had provided evidence to the fact that the source materials for publications written by him and Mr. Hua were provided by approved Chinese authorities or already were available through the Stanford University library."

However, Stanford officials have refused all requests for a comment or interview on Hua Di. Former Stanford Provost Condoleezza Rice, now serving as a foreign policy advisor to presidential candidate George W. Bush, has refused to comment. In addition, Perry has likewise refused all requests for an interview on Hua Di."

How China took White House
"In April 1994, U.S. Defense Secretary William Perry sat down with his Chinese counterpart, Gen. Ding Henggao of the People's Liberation Army. Together, Perry and Ding hammered out a series of agreements for U.S. technology transfers to China which were approved by President Clinton. In 1994, Ding served not only as a three-star general in the Chinese Army but also as director of China's Commission of Science, Technology, and Industry for National Defense or "COSTIND."

….Interestingly, SCM Brooks was then controlled by a close friend of Defense Secretary Perry, Prof. Lewis from Stanford University. In fact, Lewis was troubled briefly when Stanford investigated his use of their facilities to set up the HUA MEI deal. That trouble, however, did not prevent him from certifying that the end use customer in China, Galaxy New Technology, was not military. The fact that Galaxy New Technology was set up by COSTIND and owned by two generals of the Chinese Army was ignored until the GAO wrote a report on it."

Another Chinese strategic coup

Red Money Inside American Politics

Li ka-Shing - Red Arms Dealer
"Bill Clinton considers Li Ka-Shing to be a power in red China equal to that of Chinese President Jiang Zemin. Bill Clinton's White House opened its doors to Li Ka-Shing and his Beijing buddies in the Chinese army surplus outlet store, Poly Technologies. It is the responsibility of Congress to look into Li Ka-Shing and Bill Clinton despite the lies and spin from the White House."
