If his plane is hijacked, Don Detrich wants the attackers to know he will consider it his "patriotic duty to get up from my seat and kick ass."

As founder of the fledgling Flight Watch Hijacking Resistance League, Detrich has urged airline passengers to fight back, using weapons from ballpoint pens to beverage carts. As his message has spread from his Web site to media outlets from coast to coast, he's heard from dozens of potential recruits eager to get on board.

just one armed citizen on each of the four planes on the LIRR, in the bank, in the restaurant, etc.... would have saved many, if not THOUSANDS of lives.

Your statement rings true in multiple situations where only one armed person could have prevented murder and sved lives.

Realisitically it would be better for citizens with carry permits to be armed on the planes, but, that is WAY more of a threat to the existing entrenched government than ANY terrorist attack, that's why it's not even being considered.

Yes -- and this is so obviously true that until they do seriously consider it, I will not give them the benefit of the doubt that they are simply trying their best to ward off the threat.

OK, I'll bite.

What on God's green earth is a GLUE STICK going to do? Are you going to take the glue gun with you? Plug it in and wait 5 minutes for it to get hot? Plug it in where? And then slowly apply it to the terrorist somehow?

Although to be fair, I have heard of someone who was so proud of his caulking gun that he added a telescope sight to it.

Now he can take down deer from 100 yards away.

Of course, you can't eat them after that, cuz, well, they've got caulk all over them.

Fight[sic] 93 might have been shot down

It might have been shot down by a flying saucer, but the evidence says it was crashed by the hijackers when they started losing the fight with the passengers.

Dawn Deeks can kiss my ass. Is this communist twit saying that training an emaciated 110 lb attendant is better than the men on board fighting back? Trusting the flight crews was one of the enabling attitudes for 9/11. Frankly, I want my steak knife back. Scarecrow security is a waste of time. Wait till you go through security in Detroit and listen to arabs yelling at each other in arabic as they wand 60 year old white women!!! Mineta and Ridge are MORONS..

I gather that he meant one of those big ones that can be used as a blunt instrument. Then again, there are just so many things that can be used as blunt instruments that I don't think a glue stick is particularly good for it.

Among his recommendations: "Prepare yourself with weapons and shields: ballpoint pens, large pieces of luggage, hard briefcases, blankets or whatever is available. A food cart can also provide an effective ram and shield. . . . Anarchy and confusion work in the passengers' favor. Fight to kill."

Great. Now all THESE THINGS will be banned from flights as potential weapons.
