Yes and no.
Only an idiot would choose to be a democrat. However, some idiots (due to a complete lack of a coherent thought process) mistakenly wind up in various other parties: Greens, Lyndon Larouche groupies, etc.
I hear the long-extinct Whig party has a growing membership roll chock-full of idiots :-)

Not all idiots vote--so we cannot be sure that all idiots are democrats. But all who vote Democratic are idiots. This of course includes the very rare Republican rushing to the office who accidentally votes for Gore.

Actually the number of elected Democrat party-switchers to the GOP under Clintoon is in excess of 480. He did more for the GOP than Haley Barbour, Jim Nicholson, or Gov. Gilmore.

I believe the answer is that all Democrats are idiots. Some idiots do not belong to a party, most don't even vote and it is obvious to me at least that we have many such idiots, right here in the Republican party.
How else do we explain moderates?
Idiot is another way of saying,"undecided".
