I've never been to Wisconsin but I've been told that most of the state is basically conservative, but that Madison is nothing more than a socialist cesspool. Is that true?

I've lived here only 14 years and the scary thing is that I understand almost all of this thread!!! And the even scarier thing is that it doesn't seem strange to me anymore. And I no longer can recognize a Wisconsin accent.

I've been told that most of the state is basically conservative, but that Madison is nothing more than a socialist cesspool. Is that true?Don't forget Milwaukee. Add the two together and they outvote the rest of the state and dominate the politics around here, unfortunately.

I guess I'll go drown my sorrows in a can of POP!!!!

"Someone already answered the question, but it's Sheepshead." Might have graduated from Eau Claire a quarter sooner, IF I had spent the 'sheepshead' time studying.

You forgot "squeaky cheese curds." Good point, Bob - If they're not squeaky, they're not fresh!

NEVER!
So how cold would it have to get in hell before a FIB discovered turn signals?

You are correct...Madison has the liberals and Milwaukee has the democrat corruption. They are the two biggest cities which wrecks it for the rest of the state.

"I've never been to Wisconsin but I've been told that most of the state is basically conservative, but that Madison is nothing more than a socialist cesspool. Is that true?" Pretty close. If they knew how to count votes in Milwaukee accurately, the conservatives would win, the state, most of the time.
Ever notice how every seat of government, draws the 'pigs' to the trough? If the handouts couldn't be lobbied for, the socialists would never congregate like they do, IMHO. Just a case for local government that I continue to make to spread out the 'hyenas' who seek to feast off another's effort.

Very funny. How can you folks stand to live up there? Cold weather is OK once in a while, but for eight months out of the year?

The term "Soda" is only found in Milwaukee, Racine, Kenosha and Waukesha counties. It's very regional."
It's "soda" up here in Brown County too. (Green Bay.)

You forgot "squeaky cheese curds." Having never tried them, nor seen them, I can't testify to the fact that they actually exist. Personally, I still think it's a joke a friend of mine is pulling on me for introducing her to grits."
Squeaky cheese curds are the best. The squeakier they are, the fresher they are.:)

OOPS! Nothing STINKS like Cudahy (Although Kaukauna comes in a very close second)"
If that's true, I must remember to NEVER visit Cudahy. Kaukauna reeks.

BTW, my office is three blocks from the original City Stadium. They just put up a new sign commemorating place as a historical site."
By East high, right? Did you know the NFL donated some money to the Pack to use for renovating sports facilities at area schools, and the Pack chose to re-build City Stadium?
