Is Israel really "holy land" for the arabs ?
Myself ^ | Ammiel Worcester

Israel is reputedly the holy land of the palestinians and therefore She will be fought for by the Palestinians and supported by other arab nations until the Israeli Jews (and other ethnicities) leave Her altogether.

In this way the palestinians justify a "holy war" or "Jihad" against Israel and her citizens, claiming She is rightfully theirs by religious right. This is their so called "holy land" remember.

Eygpt, Syria, and Saudi arabia, as well as the other arab nations support the Palestinians and their methods of terrorism to "drive the infidel out of their holy lands." However She does not seem to be a unique arab holy land in the middle east. In fact the truth is that every Arab country is considered their "holy land." According to Bin Ladin, Saudi Arabia is the holiest spiritual land on this earth. According to the Palestinians it is Israel. Iraq cite Kuwait as a holy land. Afghanistan is a holy land for the Taliban

I propose that this veil of religiousity is nothing more than an excuse for terrorism and a conspiracy to drive every westernized and indeed democratic nation out of the middle east region which they clearly veiw as an "arabs only" zone. The west, are constantly accused of racism against muslims; Is the total expulsion/ eradication of every non-arab in the middle east not slightly racsist? How many "holy lands" can one religion have? As i see it Islam is fundamentally one religion; cleverly manipulated by arab dictators to further their own cause; that of total control of the middle eastern region.

Dey toss out da word "holy" with the same abandon da Sopranos use da 'f' word. "Holy land," "holy war," "holy city," "holy mountain," "holy man," "holy writings," "holy site,". Tony could substitute his favorite expletive every time they use 'holy'.

Any land that becomes disputed with non muslims suddenly becomes "holy". I have heard Chechen rebels refer to Chechnya as "holy land".

The truth is that while prior to 1967 there was nothing holy about any land over there, for them...

Are you saying that there is no proof that Jews occupied Jerusalem prior to the Arabs? I'm no student of history, but besides the Bible it would seem that there is a pretty fair body of Roman records on the subject. If memory serves, Jerusalem was a Roman province about 2000 years ago.

Maybe others can elaborate where my knowledge is sparse.

The Arab Temple Mount say it all. The Arabs have thousand year old Mosques and Jews have stories and the bible (which they wrote).

You are making no sense. Muslims themselves hold those stories in the bible to be true. Do you know anything about Islam?

You ignore a great deal of established archaeological and historical fact. Judaism pre-dated Islam by quite a few centuries. But you knew that, didn't you?

Well the Romans did think they sacked Jerusalem and stole the Temple's Menorah. They even eracted the Arch of Titus as a monument to their achievement.

Tony Harvard Man would tell you that they were influenced by Hollywood.

It might be helpful if you looked at the sons of Abraham.

There was Isaac, his son by his half sister Sara. Ishmael, his son by his handmaiden, Hagar and another half dozens sons by his wife Keturah. They populated the region.

The OT is just the history of the Israelites, written by them, for them about their relationship with God.

Thanks Sabramerican. I guess a few crumbs of history did lodge in my brain during my school years.

The Western Wall is the remains of Ft. Antonia, a Roman fortification. It was not a part of the picture for Jews until about 600 AD. Regardless, of the dates however.. it is important to them.

Looks like a Harvard education aint what it used to be. Palestine was a flyblown backwater, and Al Mosque was in disrepair until the Jews took over the land. Now it's a "holy site." Funny, it's not once mentioned in the Koran. When everything is "holy," nothing is holy.

Jews have stories and the bible (which they wrote).

And who wrote the Muslim stories? (especially since many are the same?)

No offense intended, but what's the point here?

Just for the record, I believe the muslim 'holy book' was written by muslims just as the Torah was 'writen by themselves'.
Since it was written far after the Jewish scrolls and sources for both Jewish and Christian (formerly jews themselves) books of today, the muslims are basing broad claims on the ravings of one or a very few far more recent and far less 'peaceful' men who seem to have needed an excuse for simple expansionism.
Kind of like Communists have for a century based their crimes on one book written by two loonies in 19th century industrial Germany.

More to the point, Islam seems to have placed its holy sited conveniently all over the place; be careful that your local gas station is not infringing on the dome of the holy arroyo or some rock anointed by mohamad's horse as it passed by.
