The marginilization of whites in society (Dan Issel, Cracker Barrel, Toyota

Posted on 12/13/2001 11:03:04 PM PST by Michael2001

I know this isn't the most PC of titles, but I couldn't think of anything better to describe what I'm going to talk about. I'm going to try and take a personal story of legal racism that happened to me, and intertwine that with the Dan Issel, Cracker Barrel, and Toyota stories.

I own and run a security firm in Virginia with three other guys. We've recently been trying to expand and were about to sign a deal with a rather large company in Richmond, this would have been huge for a firm of our size and I was already celebrating and looking for overly expensive Christmas gifts for my wife. Well it fell through, apparently the guys who were about to ink the deal with us got the message from higher ups in the company that they ought to sign with a minority firm. I can't give any details because nothing's final yet; but all signs point to the fact that we're going to lose out because we're 4 white guys competing with a firm run by Hispanics. I repeat, we're going to lose a lot of money- because we're white.

Dan Issel is the coach of the Denver Nuggets. In an altercation with a fan he called him a friggin Mexican (only he didn't say friggin). They had a guy from some Hispanic group on the O'Reilly Factor tonight. Not only does his group want Issel fired, but they want the Nuggets orginization to hire more Hispanics and do more work with Hispanic media. Now we're in a recession right now, companies aren't exactly hiring people right now. If the Nuggets cave and start to hire Hispanics, who do you think is going to be first in line to get fired?; you got it, white folk, they're going to be fired to make room for Hispanics, all so the Nuggets can say look at how diverse we are, please don't sue us.

Toyota just gave Jesse Jackson 700 million dollars so that he will not brand their corporation racist.

The Cracker Barrel is currently being sued for 100 million dollars for claims that they are racist to black customers. No proof, just the world of black customers against the word of Cracker Barrel management. I'd guess that the odds are very favorable that the black customers will win this lawsuit.

I can't speak for the media, but I would take action against the employee regardless of what group was slurred.

Calling him 'Mexican' is racist? Will he sue the US Government for all those times he had to label himself as Mexican-American?

Have you posted the link you provided for wholesale perusal on the forum? It is excellent, and so right, that it may be construed as racist itself.

I agree with your comment regarding the blackmailing of the Nuget organization. I do not agree with your comment regarding Issel. His comment does reflect on the organization as he said it while acting as coach of the team, in his place of employment (the arena). I don't have a problem expecting employees to represent the company well while on duty. He is a high level employee who is perceived by the public as a representative. When, while performing his job, he uses this type of language, how do you suppose it doesn't reflect back on the company?

"we're going to lose out because we're 4 white guys competing with a firm run by Hispanics."

Don't you get it!

200 years ago the hispanics were wrongly unslaved by white Americans. We have to repent from our past sins. We have to undo past wrongs. (racial quota's)

Oh, I'm sorry that was Black Americans!

Ok, lets try this.

The whites took all their land away when we first settled North America.

Oh, I'm sorry that was the Indians.

Oh, this isn't working out the way I plan. But you white Americans must of done something to them.

I got It.

I quess its the color of your skin!

Stilts, Do the Nuggets have a known policy of racism that Issel was enforcing or reflecting? Is it there policy to lash out at critical fans with the appropriate racial slur?

Don't be ridiculous. Or course Issel should be punished, possibly fired outright. But Issel's comment, I'm sure, DOES NOT reflect Nuggets policy!

I agree with your comment. Of course the Nuggets don't have a policy of racism that Issel was reflecting. However, we stand for what we tolerate. For a comapny to take no action against an employee in a case like this does state that the firm tolerates this type of behavior.

I sure would like to know where it is in the constitution that it says that free people cannot choose with whom they wish to associate or do business. So what if someone discriminates? Don’t choosy mothers choose JIF? When they choose JIF over another brand is that not discrimination against the other brand? How about coupons? When a store gives someone a discount because they have a particular piece of paper and withholds the discount from another customer because they do not have that piece of paper is that not discrimination? When a person gets a senior citizen discount is that not discrimination against people who are younger than this person?

Why are those forms of discrimination tolerated any more than discrimination against particular minority groups or majority groups for that matter? When I go to a store and they will not sell me something because I do not have enough money then are they not discriminating against me? When I go to apply for a job and I don’t have the proper education or any knowledge of the job being offered then is it not discrimination when they do not hire me? How do you know when discrimination is good and when it is bad or is it always bad? NURTZ....I’m going to lay down I have a headache!

From M1991's reply:On Wednesday, Issel apologized for his remarks and received a four-game suspension

Issel was punished.

On another point regarding O'Reilly's interview with Estevan from Captianpaintballs's post:O'Reilly asks him if giving 250 thousand dollars would be enough to make amends. Flores says "Eyeeee theeenk that would be starting to go down the right track... Would 750,000 shut him the hell up?

I thought O'Reilly's question and this answer reveals the real reason for the outcry.

"It is your people who cower from the charge of Racism, your people who cant stand up to a Poverty Pimp like Jesse Jackson, your Corporations that allow themselves to be extorted, your Colleges that practive Political Correctness to the point of rubbing out your opinion altogether."

So True!

The majoraty of whites are ignorant at what is going on in this country. They do cower from charges of Racism.

But, I think the people of Free Republic are the exception to the rule. Eagles Up

This shows what a group of people who bond together for a cause can do.It also shows the selfish side of the White Race as long as it is not me I will sit back and be quite. The church has succumbed to the Homosexual Agenda,America has turned its back on Christianity from which it was founded, corporate America has succumbed to Jesse Jackson and the beat goes on and on and on.Sit on your cans America is dying a slow painful death and your elected officials are being bought and sold by big money and the Minority Block vote.Dumb Crackers.
