Awwww, thank YOU for your very kind note. It really is good, isn't it? A friend of my wife is coming over in a little while to have an egg nog contest. She claims she has a better recipe. This is going to be so easy, especially after mine has been sitting in the ice box for a week. It's kind of like spaghetti. It is much better on the third day than when it is first made.

Thank you again for the ringing endorsement, and I hope you and yours had a very merry Christmas!

You are absolutely right about it being even better in succeeding days. Damn that stuff was good. How did the egg nog contest go? I can't imagine that she did not conceed after just one sip.

Thanks again--The contest went very well, and she did concede very quickly. I'm glad you wrote, as it reminds me that I still have about a pint left. I'm going to the kitchen right now and pour myself a measure. Hope the new year is going well for you.

Found this bookmarked, and I thought I'd bump it for this CHRISTmas season. I plan on making it in a week for our card party.

Tis the Season to get Snockered, FA LA LA LA LA, LA LA LA (burp)!

That was very kind of you. Thank you very much.

One piece of advice: Get the cards with the large numerals. You're going to need them.

PS The earlier you make it, the better it will be. It's so strong, it will keep forever. You can make it now, and it will be just right for Christmas.

Just finished making my first batch--Had 2 samples--a little raw, but it will be alright in about a week. The problem is finding the superfine sugar. No place here had it. The local grocery said they'd special order some for me, so the second batch will have to wait until then.

How did your party go?

Just made it tonight for another party, didn't go to the card party . WOW that stuff is potent, yet hard to have just one glass. Did you say it mellows after being stored a while?

I'll tell you how the party went (If I remember),

"Did you say it mellows after being stored a while?"

It gets better and better, just like left over spaghetti. My wife gave her hairdresser a bottle of it in April from the Christmas batch. She said it was fabulous.

As I type this, I am sipping some that was made a couple of days ago. It is melding and smoothing beautifully. Yum.
Warn your friends that unexpected things can happen after drinking this elixir. For example, one of the wives who came to our last eggnog party conceived that night.
Be careful out there!
Have fun and report back. Hic

Recipe for ya. Take regular granulated sugar. Place in food processor. Pulse several times. Instant super fine sugar.

Shouldn't take 1.5 hours to make, unless you have to sample all the spirits beforehand...

And what is wrong with that?? ;-)

If you are a drinker, even a heavy one, be very careful with this. It is a first cousin to rocket fuel.

Friendly advice if you post this in future holiday seasons.

Consult a product liability lawyer to construct a product warning label!!!

But this recipe reminds me of a fellow I heard on a religious program relating
one of his experiences with drugs (before he found The Lord).
While his wife was out of town for a few days, a druggy friend showed up at his
house with "some nasty black stuff".
He and his buddy partook of some of the drug...the next thing he knew, he was in the
backyard, gasping and being helped to his feet by his buddy.
"What was that stuff? It almost killed me??!!".
"I don't know what it was." replied the druggy friend.
"Let's do that again!" said the fellow.

I relate. I know chocolate makes me fat, deranges my metabolism...and I keep on eating it.
I probably will be trying this egg nog/rocket fuel as well.

How do you eliminate the risk of salmonella if you use raw eggs?

I'm guessing there's enough alcohol to kill any germs...

By the way, what brand of cigarettes did Dr Grafton recommend would go well with this concoction?

No smoking within 30 ft....

Thanks a million!
I don't know why I didn't think about that. Wait a minute, I know why--too much sampling during the preparation.
Now I have to go out and get a food processor. Are they more expensive than 2 lbs of pulverized sugar?

Joathome:
We use to make "Jungle juice" in lister bags in the jungle on Guadalcanal and Bougenville. (Rasin jack) It was sure bad smelling stuff, but you could sure get high on it. It was better than the ferminted cocanut juice though. You may be dating yourself, but how about me. Joined the MARINE CORPS on Sept. 7 1942.

Have a good day and the very best to you and yours.

Gad, this is an old thread, chickie. Makes me get all nosta-jlick and whatnot... 'Course it would help if I could actually remember what the hell was going on a year ago, bwaha...

For all you domestic-minded ladies and gents out there--

MAX'S CHRISTMAS CAKE

Ingredients:
1 cup of water
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup of sugar
1 tsp salt
1 cup of brown sugar
lemon juice
4 large eggs
nuts
1 fifth Jose Cuervo
2 cups of dried fruit

Sample the Cuervo to check quality.
Take a large bowl, check the Cuervo again.
To be sure it is of the highest quality, pour one level cup and drink.
Repeat.
Turn on the electric mixer.
Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl.
Add one teaspoon of sugar.
Beat again.
At this point it's best to make sure the Cuervo is still OK.
Try another cup .... just in case
Turn off the mixerer thingy.
Break 2 leggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit.
Pick the frigging fruit off floor.
Mix on the turner.
If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers just pry it loose with a drewscriver.
Sample the Cuervo to check for tonsisticity. Next, sift two cups of salt. Or something. Who giveshz a sh!t.
Check the Jose Cuervo
Now shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table.
Add a spoon of sugar, or somefink. Whatever you can find. Greash the oven.
Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over. Don't forget to beat off the turner. Finally, throw the bowl through the window, Finish the Jose Cuervo and kick the cat.

CHERRY MISTMAS!
