Clinton Pollster Clearing White House Path for Hillary (GAG ALERT!)

A former top pollster for ex-President Clinton has produced a survey showing former Vice President Al Gore's unfavorability numbers rising precipitously, a development which could convince Democrats to drop the former VP from their 2004 presidential short list in favor of another popular Democrat.
Independent polls show the next most popular presidential candidate with Democrats is Clinton's wife, New York Senator Hillary Clinton.
Pollster Mark Penn's latest survey reveals the former veep's "lowest" ratings yet, reports this week's U.S. News & World Report's "Washington Whispers."
"In the latest Penn, Schoen & Berland Associates poll done for the moderate Democratic Leadership Council, Gore gets a 49 percent favorability rating, offset by a 46 percent unfavorability rating."
Penn says that former Gore running mate Sen. Joe Lieberman, House Minority Leader Dick Gephardt and Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle all have better favorability numbers.
Unmentioned but certainly well known by the former Clinton pollster, Mrs. Clinton beats them all among Democrats hoping to recapture the White House in three years.
In August, 34 percent of Democrats told Gallup/CNN/USA Today they'd nominate Gore again with Hillary a relatively close second at 21 percent. The only other Democrat to break into double digits was has-been New Jersey Senator Bill Bradley, with 12 percent.
Former V.P. nominee Joe Lieberman was backed by just 9 percent.
A survey of Iowa Democrats in April also showed only Gore beating Mrs. Clinton.

Independent polls show the next most popular presidential candidate with Democrats is Clinton's wife, New York Senator Hillary Clinton. If this is true, then the Democratic Party is in sorry shape indeed. Hillary is unelectable as president. It would be the greatest (GOP) landslide in the history of presidential elections.
Frankly, I don't believe anybody outside of Hillary's coven seriously considers her as a serious candidate. Most likely, the Democrats will find some slick new face like they did in 1992 to run against Bush.
To: areafiftyone
Oh please lord..please let Hillary be the Dem's nominee in 04...she would "lead" a Bush re-election and takeover of the Senate for the GOP...oh please..
To: BlueAngel
I don't get it, period. This woman has been known as THE BITCH WITCH since her Arkansas days. The only way she's managed to hang onto power is from the fear/blackmail she wields.
One of these days, someone with guts or balls is going to get her on tape ranting, raving and threatening people's livlihoods. It's time for Hillary Clinton to pay the piper and for the media to quit cowaring in her quake!

The pre debates would be hilarious....does Dubbya make or not make eye contact..? .that is the question
To: areafiftyone
I think they are confusing name recognition with popularity. The firemen who booed her off the stage in NY are not alone in their sentiment. I, too, would welcome her as their standard-bearer for '04. She should name Al Sharpton as her running mate. They wouldn't be able to find enough dead persons' votes to carry 3 states.

And what happened to the NY airport security cop that was run over and wounded by shrillaries limo....?
Enquiring minds want to know.....
To: BerniesFriend
Oh please lord..please let Hillary be the Dem's nominee in 04..Always be careful what you wish for. It might be granted.
People continually underestimate the Clintons's political skills. Both (all three?) make extremely good candidates.
To: SamAdams76
Hillary is unelectable as president. From your mouth to God's ear. I hope you are right. Unfortunately, we should never underestimate the stupidity of the American public--or the Dems ability to rig an election. Is anybody anywhere doing anything to clean up the election process? I don't mean making it easier for idiots to vote. I mean making it harder for illegal votes to be cast.

Independent polls show the next most popular presidential candidate with Democrats is Clinton's wife, Doesn't that line say she is not the most popular democrat, she is the second most popular democrat. The most popular is still Gore. Hillary among democrats is doing worse than Gore even though Gore is doing worse. With a war won and the first signs of recovery in the economy, 2002 looks like a descent Republican year. We will be in the 3rd year of a big booming economy in 2004. 2004 will be like 1984. The question will be can Bush win all 50 states or only 49 like Reagan did.
Here is your New York Times 2004 after election wrap up...
Once again George Dubya Bush has failed to live up to
expectations. Bush who was epected to win at least 50
states turned in a poor performance by even 1984
standards. Bush while winnning only 49 states failed to
carry several by the margins as large as Reagan did in
1984. Bush failed to carry Mass. which of course Reagan
carried in 1984. Bush did eek out a tiny win in
Wisconsin. Informed observers say he failed to meet
expectations even in the conservative midwestern state
of Wisconsin.
And the Republican control of the congress pales in
comparison with the Republican margins of a century ago.
Democratic pollsters say the Republican control of the
presidency and the house and senate will have long term
negative consequences for the Republicans. Democrats
say the Republicans are far too overconfidant and this
full control of government will be bad for them if
things go wrong. Former Minority leader Dick Gephardt
said, "They won't have me to blame if things go wrong
since I lost my bid for re-election. This inablility to
use me as a scapegoat spells big trouble for Bush in
the long run."

I am sad to say I agree with you.
Never underestimate the power of democrat's very well oiled fraud machine either.
I am convinced now that a great deal of the dems in office got there with voter fraud.
This is not the smartest woman in the world.
This is the scariest woman in the world,

This just goes to show how painfully sorry the DemonRats really are. If Hitlery is all they've got, they're finished. Since 9/11, just about every liberal cause has started taking on water and sinking fast. People are re-finding religion in record numbers. Guns sales and CCW permits are rising dramatically. The libs are pathetically desperate and they don't realize that the harder they try, the more shrill they shout, that's just more reason to dismiss their stupidity. The Dems are in a whole lot of quicksand right now.
To: demkicker
But they will suck up to her and fawn over her. They love the witch. No one will give her hardballs. She won't have an unorchestrated interview. If someone does ask her a toughie, they'll be slamed for mistreating a "lady." Geees, Louise. People magazine says she was sucker punched at the Concert for New York. I fear the HildeBeast. She just won't go away.

I consider the data showing Hillary to be popular among Dems to be misleading. It's largely based on name recognition. Someone like John Edwards probably has less than 10% name recognition nationwide, but once he gets more exposure might easily overtake Hillary.
In any case, I tend to agree with the "please give us Hillary as the opponent in '04" crowd. I think she'd be a weak candidate, a near-sure loser. There are just too many people who detest her.
To: Common Tator
He lost the big one and he knows it. Gore doesn't have the fire anymore to run and Tipper won't go for it. Hill's their only "hope" outside of a big Hollywood name. They have the money and the fame, but it's tough to get past the oatmeal for brains.
To: governsleastgovernsbest
Does she really think that she could get enough votes to defeat Bush? I think the Dems are living in a time warp. They seem to think that Bush is going to make the same mistakes his father made. They think another Clinton can defeat a Bush again. Not many people knew who Bill Clinton was before his run for president. WE ALL KNOW WHO THE BEAST IS! WE'VE HAD EIGHT YEARS OF THE WITCH. They are in for a rude awakening! BUSH/CHENEY 2004!!!
To: Common Tator
Very misleading article. It mentions only Gore's unfavorables. It doesn't mention Hillary's or even the other Democrats. So we can't compare.

Well I am sure Gore's negatives are increasing which is a great development. People see how lucky we are to have Bush rather than Gore in a time of war.
The 90's were playtime for America. The Clintons fit that image. After September 11, 2001, America grew up again. We want strong leaders who can handle international incidents. Domestic programs and social policy have been erased by the current events. The Clintons do not fit this decade; their time is past (thankfully).
In light of the new world we live in, the Dems would be much more likely to run Edwards or either Kerry (Bob or John). Even Bob Kerry's Vietnam confessions will be far less damaging after Sept. 11. We are in war now and we realize that it's kill or be killed. There will be far fewer fingers pointed in judgement toward any ex-military figures.
To: areafiftyone
At this point, three years out, it is the hardest of the hard core of the party that is speaking in these polls. And we know how extreme left they (the Rat party) have gone. Hillary is the natural for them, now that all of the other hardest-of-the-hard-left darlings have fallen to the wayside. She's their baby. If, like with McGovern when he ran against a popular sitting President, they take the party in '04, then Hillary gets to make a timing decision.
To: demkicker
She was on Meet the Press last week. Tonight she was on the Capitol Gang, interviewed by Al Hunt. You could tell the interview questions were planned ahead of time. They are trying to rehabilitate her and she is getting lots of help from her liberal media friends!

If this is the best the democrats can offer for 2004, the republicans should have a cake dance.

I have a question! Where is WHODB -- the data base that the people paid for but was used to enter all kinds of data and used also by the DNC? A White House lawyer named Kennedy (forgot his first name) was deposed by Judicial Watch and was asked about information from FBI files being entered into computers. Does Hillary still have access to all the information contained in those FBI files? What about all the research Terry Lenzner and his crew did for the Clintons? Maybe the democrats have their reasons to keep backing anyone named Clinton.
To: Angelwood
Anything is possible with the Clintons. They are biding their time but slowly re-emerging on the scene. I bet they copied everything they could before they left the White House. Argggggh!
To: Doctor Stochastic
I agree! Don't underestimate the media either! She will be treated with kid gloves if she decides to run. If you think the media is soft on her so far, wait until she runs, it will be nothing but stories about how "historic" her run is, because she's a woman, and only "bigots" would oppose her.

The real question is, would Hillary! win in a RIGGED election... in consideration of the widespread undercurrent of liberal (or worse, CIA) collaboration in the media, election fraud, and the (Clinton trademark) political dirty election tricks, I would guess that the danger is quite real, ... and therefore probably recognized by the Bush re-election team. Take into account (as Hillary! and company certainly does) the voting population's short term memory for remembering political mis-steps, scandals and gaffes, and one will see that most of the negative publicity the Hillary! has managed to generate for herself in the short term will be ancient history by the time 2004 rolls around, giving her, in effect, a new political life.
The interesting angle is GWB's own affinity for competition (in business and politics). So, looking down the road a bit, the anti-Hillary! 2004 strategy would be to take the offensive, and the question then becomes, just how will GWB's re-election team "smoke out" his all-but-confirmed 2004 opponent from within her liberal media fortress?

It would certainly surprise me to hear mention of any old Hillary! scandal during an actual Hillary! election, when it might normally be considered relevant. Red Bone and the nickel scheme, perhaps? Involvement in foreign arms smuggling? Cabin trysts with poor "suicidal" Vince? Note: since I perceive the playing field as tilted by the presence and active interference of the biased media, I'm not holding my breath...

I'll make my predictions. Hillary is smart enough to know not to run against GWB in '04. Leave that to AlGore (If he had half a brain he'd stay retired). He'll be finished once and for all and Hillary will be free to run in '08 with an open seat in the White House.
As to why the Democrats would possibly nominate her, they have no choice. Bill Clinton's man Terry McCauliffe runs the DNC, therefore the Clintons run the DNC. The Democrats made a Faustian bargain with this pair and now they're stuck with them no matter what. I'm sure many Democrats absolutely loathe Hillary Clinton and know what a disaster she would be for their party, but there's nothing they can do about it. Well, the Republicans don't seem to be doing anything about it either. Maybe they're paralysed by her reptilian glare.
The worst part of it is is that contrary to what many think, she can be elected, especially if a few things break her way, such as a bad economy and another third party candidate. You know, a repeat of 1992 (thanks again, H. Ross Perot).
Her election would be an unmitigated disaster, especially as by that time the Dems will probably have retaken both houses of congress.
Well, as Gen. Buck Turgidson said to his secretary in Dr. Strangelove: "Don't forget to say your prayers"!

And Mark Penn of Penn, Schoen & Berland Associates will be sawing, hammering, nailing and painting like crazy behind the scenes in this rehabilitation PR campaign.
Look for all kinds of fraudulent twists and turns of the Hillary-image in the months ahead. After all, Penn, Schoen & Berland Associates are partners of Ruder Finn--the infamous Public Relations firm that foisted the bogus Bosnian "starving behind barbed-wire" photos and story that boosted powerful public support for the Muslim cause in that ugly Balkan conflict back in 1992.
These guys know how to bamboozle a dumbed-down public. They get big, big money for doing it.

LOOK CLOSER, FOLKS! This was BEFORE 9-11, and the best Hillary could do was a DISMAL 21% among DEMOCRATS! No matter how they try to spin it, those numbers are abysmal. If that's the case, her numbers should be far lower now - and that's not good for her...
But it's GREAT news for us!
To: anniegetyourgun
Besides, they're motive might be to run her against Bush - knowing she will lose; thereby getting rid of her - like they did with Gore.
Or, they could be chosing her because of the Clinton machine which is still in operation through McA-Lif. Some of them are very afraid of that machine.

Hillary will be running for President for 2004. Get used to it. As the next year progresses, you will see MORE and MORE signs of Hillary running. By the end of the year, it will be clear to everybody that Hillary is running. Remember, she is DESPERATE to get back in the White House. So much more furniture left to steal.

A slick-talking lawyer, liberal and pretty-boy. Clinton credentials without the stink.
But don't count out the warthog from Chappaqua. Remember all those FBI files she was privvy to?
She could use them to get picked as VP on the ticket.
Whether it's Clinton, Fienstein or Boxer, you can bet it will be a woman.

The only reason Gore lost was because he acted like a moron in the debates. Many of them probably didn't vote in 2000.
