Not
quite positive as to the reference to the 'Ladies' on this post....as far as I'm concerned, my Wife is the best shot of anyone, male -or- female, that I know.
We've both taken the prescribed 'Gun Safety' Course as delegated by the local 'State Officials' for each of us to get our 'Carry Permits'.
...although...the truth be known - I've yet to understand how any government agency has any authority to 'Regulate' a Right as is verified by the United States' Constitution !! !! !!
Driving an automoble is a "Privilege" and, may be regulated, I guess.
But, the ownership of a firearm (if an American Citizen so chooses)
Is a RIGHT !! !! !!
If we fail in fighting for that particular 'Right', we all run the risk of being labeled "...government-disarmed, sitting-duck, law-abiding citizens and expatriates...".

Driving an automobile, riding a wagon or walking is not a privilege! These are means of travel. Driving a vehicle for profit is a privilege.

I'm new both to FreeRepublic.com and to gun ownership. I'm thinking of getting a CCW permit, but I also understand that gun registration is the first step to confiscation (see, e.g., New York City, Great Britain, Australia, Nazi Germany, etc.). So, isn't getting a CCW permit like putting a big sign on your back that says, "Hey, Gun Grabbers--When You Confiscate The Guns Come To My House First"? I figure some of you CCW holders have thought about this issue.
