If it were up to me, Jerry Winters would be tried and imprisoned for infringement of 2nd Amendment rights and jeopardizing the lives of innocent students because punks that want to shoot up a school ALSO know that teachers/administrators are unarmed. Restrict the right of students to have firearms on campus, but not the right of teachers and administrators who are serving "en loco parentis".
To those of you who think my views are extreme, I am losing patience with this demented crowd who would make all of us vulnerable to the crackpots of the world. They (those who endager the rest of us) simply must be punished. The time for negotiation is coming to an end.

My proposal is much simpler ... National conceal and carry.
To: Dittohead_2
Wholeheartedly agree. In particular, teachers and administrators or any adult of any establishment or institution should be allowed to concealed carry with a permit. Those who abuse the permit should go to prison for a very long time or be executed. Simple. Would cut down on violations both ways. Robbers would be executed. And 99% of law-abiding citizens would stay that way.

ALL of the restrictions on where you can't carry (school, airplanes, etc....) are stupid.
Is it any wonder that the overwhelming majority of 'acts of mass violence' (9/11, Columbine, various workplaces, etc...) occur where people are legally prohibited from carrying?
They need to get rid of all of the stupid restrictions. And if they are intent on keeping a few (like a courthouse), at least have a place to check them in at the door.

in Colonial Times, it was required that every home would have a firearm and the Master of the House would always carry a firearm when traveling. (Makes sense to me)

CONCEALED CARRY PERMIT HOLDERS IN TENNESSEE WANT FEWER RESTRICTIONS You see? give the people a little taste of freedom, and they're not satisfied. They want more.
It's this kind of twisted thinking that caused the downfall of communism.

Notice how the extreme responsibility of the people with the permits is not enough. The fact that virtually none of the permits is abused is not enough for the anti-freedom types. They cannot abide the idea of people having responsibility for their own safety and not relying entirely on the State.
I believe that they feel psycologicaly challenged when they think of this. Something to the effect of:
"But if people can defend themselves, I would have to learn how. I don't want to learn how, because I would have to understand that the world is not the fantasy I want it to be. I cannot allow that possiblity, so I can't allow the possibility that people can defend themselves to enter into my thought process."

The restuarant owners need to seriously think about what they are asking for. It was not too many years ago that a gunman starting shooting in a restaurant in Killen TX--leaving more than 20 people dead, because none of the diners was armed and able to protect themselves. It was shortly after this that TX had a conceal and carry law.

National Consealed Carry is the way to go.. There are to many laws to remember going state to state. If your legal in one state why not in another.

Maybe it's time to take the antis to court.Yep. Why hasn't the NRA done this? Why???!!! They have the funds. Start suing them every time they open their mouths with some stupid statement. Use up their funds on self-defense in court until they agree to shut up and let us live the way we wish to, and, allow them to live the way they wish to. We don't make them carry and they can't make us stop carrying.
Amen.

Good point. I hope all of you are having a good holiday season. Still ranting and raving about illegal immigration here and still getting flamed for it. Remember me telling all of you that it was going to be a big problem? Well, it is.

good point ..... we ARE Americans, aren't we? The Second Amendment WAS written to protect us from an overextended, overbearing, oppressive Government? When did we lose our rights?
To: MeneMeneTekelUpharsin
To those of you who think my views are extreme... I agree with you and others on this thread. I for one don't think your views are extreme. It's taken some mental adjustment to accept that I am now a "radical," but I'm at the point that anything less is unacceptable.
