Foolishness? Other than a misunderstanding of the definition of treason, as provided by the Constitution, it was backed up 100% by the Constitution. You do support the Constitution right? I agree with Boonie Rat, it seems like conservatives can get away with anything lately. Having the magic (R) after their names should not exempt them from close scrutiny. In fact, as far as I'm concerned, their party affiliation is totally irrelevant. Case in point:
Zell Miller (D) Georgia
John McCain (R) Arizona
Who's the conservative???
It cites the Constitution but it is not backed by the Constitution. Many cite the Bible to support their arguments because anything can be found there that you care to find if you are willing to misinterpret it and take things out of context. I don't intend to go back through the whole long article looking for examples but you can rest assured that a Constitutional scholar(I am not one) could take it apart.
Despite that, let's look at real transgressions of the Constitution which are already in place. Are the income tax and the IRS legal? What about the Departments of Education, Labor, Agriculture, Commerce, Interior, etc., etc.? Are restrictions on gun ownership for nonfelon citizens legal? What about separation of church and state, prayer in school, saying the pledge to the flag? Are they unconstitutional?
See, the Constitution is trampled on everyday and all these things need to be corrected but that will take time and many changes in our present politics before it can happen. Articles like this one which challenge actions taken in time of war, actions intended for our protection, actions which have been taken before and later recinded, not actions to usurp the Constitution, are dangerous and out of place, as well as mistakened. Don't get on that bandwagon.
