If a liberal said this... they'd be strung up for being un-patriotic.

I thought I would offer another quote from Mr. Buchanans book.

In 1960 only sixteen million Americans did not trace their ancestors to Europe. Today, the number is *eighty million*. No nation has ever undergone so rapid and radical a transformation. At Portland State in 1998, Mr. Clinton rhapsodized to a cheering student audience about a day when Americans of European descent will be a minority

Clinton: "Today, largely because of immigration, there is no majority race in Hawaii or Houston or New York City. Within five years there will be no majority race in our largest state, California. In a little more than fifty years there will be no majority race in the United States. No other nation in history has gone through demographic change of this magnitude in so short a time."

Buchanan continues. Correction: no nation in history has gone through a demographic change of thsi magnitude in so short a time, and remained the same nation. Mr. Clinton assured us that it will be a better America when we are all minorities and realize true diversity.

This is such a great book. And I would suggest everyone get a copy.

All I have to say is that I am very grateful that he left the Republican Party and has taken his racist banter to the Reform Party which suits me just fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it racist to express sadness at the extinction of European heritage and populations? in 1900 Europeans made up nearly one third of the world population, now we're nearly down to 10%? That's a genocide of proportions the world has rarely seen, and those who express concern are just called names.

Europe has embraced an amoral culture of shiftlessness and sloth. Let 'em die.

I predict this comment won't be deleted. However if such a negative comment had been made about Mexico or Africa, it would have been deleted instantly. It's sad to see that anti-European racism has come home to roost even on Free Republic.

No country and it's culture can survive unlimited illegal immigration.

Why do we need more immigrants? I mean the question in all seriousness. Is there not enough traffic out there for you?

Seriously, this always bothered me too. It's obvious that pollution is caused by overpopulation, not by technology. If everyone kept warm in winter from coal fires, the cities would be far more polluted than they are now. It seems unbelievable that the same people who are clamoring to reduce pollution are also demanding that we import millions and millions of new people each year. Its also interesting that the people complaining about the wage gap are clamoring to import millions and millions of people with no assets, no skills, and no income.

Conservatives who favor unrestricted open borders in the current historical and political context are either mentally deluded/insane or suicidal.

That is because europeans have been conditioned to believe that their own self-preservation is racist.

I agree with Godel. I wonder why this racist comment was left to stand and not deleted instantly as others were.

This is without a doubt, far worse that anything Mr.Buchanan ever said or for that matter, anyone on this thread..Interesting.

RE:"Culture is an expression of race"

By that reasoning then, Americans are a race, because like it or not, we have a distinctive culture.
We get immigrants, they assimilate (or used to) and we absorb whatever "cool" cultural stuff they bring along that's absorbable.
The stuff you're talking about smacks of that whole "blood culture" B.S. that implies that a chinese kid raised in the state will grow up eating dog and banging a gong every time he enters a room, or other crap, like that an american black kid adopted by white parents needs to be raised according to his "birth/blood culture" - when that whole idea in and of itself is more Nazi like than anything I've ever heard Buchannon say.
As if to say that Barbecues, Rock&Roll and Blues music are anything but American.
Besides the only only other distinctive "race" Homo Sapiens ever shared space with were the Neanderthals and we either crossbred them out of existance or ate them all - don't know which, I wasn't there.
It's all irrelevant fluff anyway.

Only my father having seen the guns at El Paso-sitting atop Anthony Mountain, over-looking the pass. My mother's uncle was Commander at Bliss ( '43 & 44 I think ) & he gave my father a courtesy tour after dinner & answered in regards to the artillery, "We expected them to sweep the West Coast & then to come across the Southwest & we were planning to stop them right here". Being from Houston,Tx, my father was shocked that a full bird was revealing such a circumstance & that the drama might have been played out there. Obviously, 'we' were planning fall-back positions everywhere ( I persume ) & this was likely one of many, not really 'the' plan-just part of much larger, multi-faceted 'what-if'. Maybe, too, our now long-gone uncle was just creating a little drama for his niece's new husband-to the army, every facility is a fort & artillery in the most likely places around a fort, given other, larger circumstances, might be taken with a grain of salt.

Funny that Mr. Buchanan's 'last whine' would provoke this much heat. You might call the fire department, but then, they don't have that much water. A worthy FR question some week or so ago, was posted, "Name the Issue of the Times" ( or year or such ). Looks like Mr. Buchanan has named it. I'm just grateful such a man is out there, doing valid analysis of real data, & willing to take the heat for saying some things that most people see as obvious, but have lacked the data to confirm.

Some folks discover their best use in life ( finding how they best serve their fellow man & all that ), some do not. Surely that task is what life should be about. Those who fear data, facts & bad logic, should read it & refute it with better data & logic-not engage in an attempt at slander or ad hominem argument.

In addition to the consrvs who accept open borders are the Worshipful Bushfans who fear any questions in re Citizen Fox ( he of the land of infinite corruption, drugs & death ), China MFN ( for a land of inifinte terror, body parts, weapons export & slave labor for millions ), etc about their new, true, hero, The Marlboro Man. Some of them fear any question so much, they hit the abuse button & the moderator ( poor, much abused fellow himself ) sends stern warnings not to offend the WB's when they are on bended knee in the Church of The Marlboro Man.

I am only curious as to why & what was content of comment. Mr. Robinson has done a wonderful job, FR is famous, but the manner of the deletions raise my curiousity. A few seem to think that some PC boundry was crossed, sedition may have been seen in the comments, or ?? I fear that the pro-war stance has some set of blinders implied, which we should all wear & that even discussion of improper thoughts should be banished. Perhaps I need to read more, & discover some clear understanding & logic, but my time is short.
