Has it occured to you that these service jobs are not desirable to many non-immigrants? As an employer, wouldn't you want to hire people that can communicate with your customers?

When you went to school, they only taught the truth?

Yes I considered it the truth, and best of all, the only slight slant they put on anything was always, *pro American*. Do you have a problem with this?

Oh yes, and when I went to school the teachers did not stalk the children, the children did not want to kill all the other students and teachers, and the girls did not all look like prostitutes.

We not only got more truth than what these socialist public school teachers taught today, the entire nation was a better nation, as were our public schools. Oh and this was before the massive crimainal illegal alien invasion too. Any more questions?

Have fun. You can tell your grandchildren that if only we had killed a few more "evil" people, if only we had set up a few more non-governmental agencies to spread the good news of consumer capitalism. if only we had exported more dailsy-cutter "freedom" and more tomahawk "democracy", more shopping malls, if only we had done more to everybody and for everybody, then everybody would be like us.

So well stated. This is the crux if the whole problem. Our children and grandchildren will despise us for what we've done.

He suggested a 15% tarriff. If that is punitive, then what do you call the income tax? Other countries already charge the same tarriffs we do now; that is the whole idea behind trade deals and GATT.

They have nothing to do with one another: A tariff is something you levy on foreign goods while an income tax is a tax on domestic income.

So we should teach only the history that makes people do what you want them to do? Or even change the history books to say what we want?

Can you say we are a nation of laws? Repeat it often, I am confident that you will get the concept.

(ME)Any reason why the moms and pops of the modern world (not 3rd world) are opting not to have babies or to kill them???
(YOU) Because babies are expensive and provide little economic benefit?

Or is it?-- from Eleanor Mills, Spectator, September, 2000. (Pat's book p 14) "Because, she writes, "my generation's own preoccupations are. unfortunately, looks and money."

Looks like it's the me-greed. Seems like a lot of guilty people are posting. How do you Plead?

"You obviously do not read well and you seem to spit ignorant accusations without thinking."

Bite me, clymer. I was merely responding to what you wrote: There is nothing wrong with my reading or thinking abilities.

Don't get into a battle of wits with me, Nanook. You are simply too ill equipped.

"Ignorant" my a$$.

When is enough enough--when America reaches 500 million in population? 750 million? A billion? Should we look like India...we're getting that way anyway in some of our cities, and our universities too.

You are absolutely correct.

We are often told that immigration is beneficial to our economy--but we need to carefully examine our concept of prosperity.

The greatest prosperity is freedom.

And the more people we pack into this country, the more freedom we stand to lose.

The denser and more diverse a population, the more people will step on each other's toes, and the more they will turn to government to referee their little conflicts.

And so we get a proliferation of laws and bloated government.

Laws that penalize us for not sorting our trash, for having a fireplace, for not mowing our lawn, for not having an approved toilet, for not having pollution controls on our cars, for playing our music too loud, for having a ferret as a pet, for having an "attractive nuisance" on your property(if you store your boat in your backyard, and your neighbor's kid tresspasses and hurts himself on your boat, it's your fault), etc., etc.

Examine the election day map of November 2000, the one in red and blue, and you will see that the more densely populated areas voted for Gore and the less densely populated areas voted for Bush.

Enough said?

I have a few ideas on how to address the immigration issue:
1. Deport ALL non US citizens in prison. Just put them in the plane, once they're there they're the local auth. problem.
2. Over the next 2 years, re-issue Drivers Licenses in all states. Drivers will have to provide valid SSN plus Birth Certificate, US passport, Green Card, or Valid Passport with Temporary Visas.
3. Revisit the Migrant Worker program.

Could you please quote an example of a racist rant by Mr. Buchanan?

I already posted what I considered to be racist rants... go find it..Freepers should be able to read.

Basically, I believe they are rants...because the majority will not listen to him and I believe they are racists because he highlights racial distinctions and racial issues. It would be great if he could present his facts and stats in a way that would muster all Americans together, which then would FORCE our politicians to make changes.

"We are Afghanis now?"

Only insomuch as we let them immigrate here and democratically allow them to implement parts of their culture into our law. Nowhere was I speaking of Afghanis only. I was talking about immigration.

The 30 million foreign born is the who. To their ancestral countries of origin, as best can be determined, is the where. Pace discusses this in his book, the President will need to negotiate treaties with the respective countries. Otherwise, Hawaii is proposed as a "holding tank."

How many of the 30 million foreign born are going to end up in Hawaii? And, out of curiosity, why Hawaii?

Look, I don't want to debate with you what or who's history should be taught.

Unless you have living in a deep cave for the past 25 plus years you would know that the public government school system is a complete total disaster. And the people that run these instutitutions are mostly extreme leftist socialist, and big government hacks. Did I cover everything for you?

So they really taught you why the Civil War was fought, why the USS Maine was sunk, why the crusades were fought, what the inquisition was about, etc.? So if the schools are currently putting a slant on the history that is being taught, but it's not the slant that you want, then it's not ok? As for the kids wanting to kill each other and looking like prostitutes, I think you can thank the media for that. Would it be better to go back to 1950, and have to worry about polio or the iron curtain? It's 2002, this is the world we have, like it or not.

GREAT IDEAS! I believe that the majority of Americans would support each of those ideas.

This, of course, is a very intelligent solution, therefore it will NEVER come to pass.
