Aircraft is registered to National Aviation Holdings, owned by Cooper. This is part of a flight school in St. Pete, but not "St. Pete Flight School."

Cooper, who owns company that owns aircraft that hit Tampa building, made these comments in a newspaper article after the Sept 11 attack. He was describing the lifting of restriction on flightactivities and he chose to describe how we sould "be nice to Arabs."

Just why did he want us to be "nice to Arabs?"

Because President Bush told him so... they have a "peaceful and loving" religion, afterall...

What is an FR exclusive, that "many Florida flight schools train Arab students."? Well no $hit!

Have you ever considered that Arabs are not permitted to learn to fly in their home countries? Where else would they go if they wanted to learn, England?

In England, you have to pay a landing fee each time you land. Britains come to Florida to learn to fly, too, because it is too expensive in their own country.

I've talked to some of them and they tell me that they can buy a round-trip ticket to Orlando, pay for three months in a condo, all expenses, and learn to fly - cheaper than they can learn to fly in England.

People come here - always have - because in America we have something called freedom. Here, we can do whatever we think best, as long as we don't harm somebody else. It's called "individual rights" - what a concept.

Some of you want to end that in the name of "safety".

Not at all.

Stop and think. Young man steals A/C. Chooses to fly toward largest city in area. Was able to take off, retract gear, fly 25 miles, but made no to attempt to avoid building. Chooses to fly into Bank of America.

Motive?

"I don't want to get involved in profiling," he said. "I have faith in my government. I have to work on the belief that my government has basis to allow them into the country and show them proper respect." end of article.

Doesn't want to get involved so let the government do it. And believe the government will do the right thing. That has proven to be one of the worst ideas ever uttered. I therefore by inference wouldn't trust his piloting skills anymore than his grasp of government.

Just a supposition at this point, by both of us.... but time will tell.

Who ever he was, thank goodness he didn't decide to fly 90 miles up I-4 and hit Main Street Disney World, or Epcot.

Wonder if taking off from local airport, hitting building before CAP can intercept is new technique?

Chooses to fly into Bank of America.

Probably dumb enough to think that it's the Fed gov't bank rather than a private enterprise.

No retractable gear on this model. If there was it would be a RG 172.

Perhaps it's more of an act of desperation. After all, we have put a bit of a cramp in their organizations. I expect these things to occur for some time to come. Before long they will resort to suicide bombers in shopping centers as they do in Israel. Not a comfortable thought.

FLASH! Maybe it was a secret service agent of Arab descent who had to be permitted to fly the plane after the debacle decision that it was the pilot's error for refusing the one headed for TX.

You both have good cases! -- How bout a home grown jihadic cultist? -- And the fact that he was trained to retract the gear also sounds highly suspect, right? Right?

Whatta motive!
