Bears Going Down In Flames to Eagles
Self ^ | 1/19/2002 | USConservative

Posted on 01/19/2002 1:22:25 PM PST by usconservative

Gonna be a long day Bears fans.

Eagles moving the ball almost at will

The only 1st down the Bears got all 1st Qtr. was only because of a penalty on the Eagles

Jim Miller (ineffective today) just got taken out of the game, return doubtful

Shane Matthews warming up on the sidelines.

I hate the Bears. I hate 'em, I hate 'em, I hate 'em!!!

Figures Donovan McNabb (a South Side Chicago boy, Mt. Carmel High School) is gonna be the one to slaughter the Bears.

And we won't even start talking about that lame interception Miller threw. Just plain stupid.

Yep, the old Bears are back. The old suck-buttocks Bears!

David “Green” Akres with the 34 yd FG

03 - PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
00 - CHICAGO BEARS

1st Quarter / 9:04 left

Bears do nothing on offense.
Eagle get the ball back on a punt.
7:27 left

Eagles stall again in the red zone
David “Green” Akres with the 23 yd FG

06 - PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
00 - CHICAGO BEARS

1st Quarter / 3:22 left

Bears get going on an unnecessary roughness penalty and drive into FG range. Interception by Eagles’ Damon Moore at the 2, returns it to the 20. Miller shaken, landed badly on his throwing shoulder (calling it a separate right shoulder).

2nd Quarter / 12:47 left

Eagles stall after picking up one first down. Bears get the ball back on a punt at their own 31.

2nd Quarter / 9:42 left

Time for the Shane Matthews band.

Eagles generate 174 yards in offence in the 1st quarter ... the Bears get about 30. Ain't no way to win a game......

And we haven't pointed out the Bears "three-down's and out" offensive strategy. Seems they're looking to wear out the Eagle's offense by leaving them on the field the entire first half!

Oh the pain, the pain!!

Looking like Eagles/Bucs, or better yet, Ravens/Dolphins, all over again.

Eagles get the ball back, 1st and 10, Ball on PHI 6 (7:36)

Miller is walking back onto the sideline. He has recovered from the separated shoulder. Hallelujah.

Eagles burn their last time out already. 3rd and 11.

Well, the Bears Defense is pinning the Eagles back deep into their own territory, Eagles on own 5? Defense seems to be rising to the occasion, only question is can they do it the entire game? The longer they're on the field, the more tired they're gonna get.

Miller just walked back onto the field. As if that's gonna make a difference........

Yup. Bears got lucky with two miracle victories and a few other victories over cream puffs.

Doesn't matter, however. Nobody is gonna beat the Rams.

Urlacher BARELY stops McNabb from running for a first down ... dang, he was in his own endzone and they still couldn't get him! Arrrgggghhhhh

Bears get good field position after the punt, hope they can do something with it.

I don't think I spoke too early, but what a run!!!!! Love the dive into the endzone.

I doubt the Bears Defense as good as they are, are going to be able to keep McNabb out of the endzone all day. The Eagles drove downfield three times in a row on 'em, only to choke in the red zone. Soon as the Bears defense gets tired, that'll stop.

Touchdown because of a very bad call against the Eagles.

That didn't help, and I agree: bad call by the Ref's. You could see the defensive lineman trying to stop.

At least the Bengals have been to the Super Bowl. The Lions never have been there, and won ONE playoff game in at least 20 years.

WIDE OPEN IN THE ENDZONE...Cecil Martin...wide open all the way! TOUCHDOWN EAGLES!

13 - PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
07 - CHICAGO BEARS

2nd Quarter / 0:14 left

Once again, the title of this thread is very much correct.

Bears expected to pack up and go home at halftime.

Bears Defense has been picked-apart by McNabb. Nothing left but skin and bones. Put a fork in 'em, they're done.
