Way too many vanity threads lately. And way too much trash being posted. Please try to stay on topic (politics). Also, please do a search on a significant word from the title of your article before posting. This will reduce the number of duplicates. And, along these same lines, please use the original titles on your article posts. Do NOT edit the titles. Do NOT use "My Title" titles. This will also help to reduce the number of duplicates.

And, whatever else you do, please DO NOT post from DEMOCRATS UNDERGROUND (or any other such trashy un-American socialist hangout). Free Republic was intended to be a socialist free zone. We've gone to a heck of a lot of trouble to make it that way. Why in the world would you think we would be interested in having their trash posted here?

And QUIT trashing each other. You know who you are. Knock it off! Way too many flamewars and feuds going on. And, while I'm thinking about it, QUIT trashing our conservative candidates. If you want to criticize someone's position on some policy, have at it. But do not trash or smear the man. That would include Browne, Buchanan, Bush, Keyes, et al, or whomever else may be your favorite trashee (examples listed in alphabetical sequence). The idea is to get more conservatives elected, not to trash the ones you don't like. If you want to trash someone, make it a Democrat. Thank you.

And QUIT dredging up old communist propaganda to smear our conservatives. Sheesh! Whatever else you may think about our guys, they did not hijack airliners full of people and crash them into buildings. No, my friends, not even the dreaded CIA. Anyone who would believe (or even suspect) that crap is no FReeper. I've been pulling this crap whenever I see it and several people have been banned for continuing to post it. What kind of freedom do you seek?

You ask almost as though I were seeking to blow up the world with an aleuteum Q46 explosive space modulator and claim that it was just a cigarette lighter gone blooey. ;)

But for a proper answer to your question, begin with a pair of documents known as the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States, properly construed and, where appropriate, amended. (Repeal the Sixteenth Amendment, anyone?)

I seek, in short, the end of the improperly consecrated, paternalistic State, and the restoration of properly construed and minimal American government. Which is to say, government (at all levels) whose sole legitimate business - aside from the proper and diligent defence of Americans' lives and properties - is to stay the hell out of your business, my business, and any and every individual American citizen's business, unless - big "unless" - one citizen would obstruct or abrogate a fellow citizen's equivalent rights.

Yes I do and I expect the program to fail eventually. There will be a draw down after a time and when that happens I hope we are in power. The extra money will be another tempting target for the congress.

Gov't programs never end, they just shift them to another dept. They are not going to put 45,000 employees out of work, they have lifetime jobs at our expense. They should have made the airlines provide their own security with stringent guidelines and oversight. The airlines then could pass the cost on to the people who use their services and not the rest of us.

I guess I should check this out, because it seems that some are fretting about what seems to me to be a pretty obvious distinction. Jim, do I have this down right, please?

Allowed: Criticism- even fairly harsh criticism. Not allowed: smearing and mindless bashing of conservatives. And no getting around it by saying a conservative is not really conservative.

For each of the four guys Jim named, I will give an example of criticism and of a slime. These are only meant for example purposes.

Browne criticism, allowed: Harry needs to get a grip. There is no way our country would survive his ideas on open borders. Browne crappola, not allowed: Browne is a commie pinko fag.

Buchanan criticism, allowed: How can a man who writes so eloquently keep phrasing things in ways that leaves himself open to charges of anti-semitism? Buchanan smear: Pat is a nazi anti-semite.

Bush criticism, allowed: Ted Kennedy is a great Senator? TED KENNEDY? George, have you lost your mind? Bush slander, not allowed: Dumbya is just another New World Order Stooge doing Poppy's bidding for BIG OIL.

Keyes criticism, allowed: Alan can be condescending at times and it has pissed me off. Keyes smearing, not allowed: Alan, that was one ugly sweater. No wait, that probably would fall under allowed criticism.

Anyway, is that about the right idea, Jim? Being critical of any of these (or other) politicians or political figures on the right side of the aisle for their views on immigration, or for their views on just about anything is fine.

Any chance we could also get rid of the anti-income tax postings that are really nothinh more than fronts for programs trying to sell their "knowledge" and "services." Friend in Orlando bought one (not from FP posting.) Ended up costing him $32K, his business, his family and 8 years in Club Fed.

I'm not debating Income Tax, IRS or anything else here. I'm just asking that we not have the not-so-well hiddden sales pictches for these anti-tax schemes.

And could there be mention to the populus to use the "Search" feature before posting?

It makes it easier to read one article and see all the comments consolidated to one thread, than having to flip through the pages of FR to see where else an article is posted.

And what about if there are two articles posted, dealing with the exact same issue but from different sources? Would you prefer additional articles following an original thread be inserted into the original thread on a topic?

Lord, I hope that's not true. I'm as pro-Israel as they come, but that kind of rhetoric is pointless, other than to vent, and it would be better if we yelled into our pillows that immortalize those thoughts on the internet.
