A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 2/4/02
yahoo.com, whitehouse.gov | 2/4/02

Posted on 02/04/2002 5:08:46 PM PST by rintense

It's Monday and President Bush kicked off the week with a full schedule as usual. Bush sent his $2.13 trillion budget to Congress, including the 'largest increase in military spending in a generation.' The President took his patriotic message to Eglin Air Force Base in Florida, where hundreds of enthusiastic soldiers cheered him on as he spoke about the war on terror. And to add to his busy Monday schedule, Bush also met with Russia Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov to privately discuss regional security issues. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Well we certainly welcome the likes of you. One of my 2nd graders best friend is also Candadian. His dad welcomed the job opportunitie in the pharmecutical business down here that he was in up there. When the opportunity came he jumped at it because it would relocate he and his beautiful family to Texas a Conservative State and at the time Gov. GW Bush. He is black and his wife is Asian. A beautiful and very nice couple and I truly encourage my sons friendship with these people because you can tell they are good people. He couldn't wait to leave the socialized government of Canada and his company renews his work visa when it is time and at the same time they are both working on getting their citizenship and their company is also helping them.

I don't know many Canadians but the few I have met are surprisingly conservative, and that is probably why they are down here.

Yikes! What is that THING growing out of the Russian's head in post 6! LOL I guess it is a plant behind him or something, but it looks really strange!

Great pics, rintense. That first one is outstanding! Did one of those 'A F babes' do a wolf whistle? It sure does look like Dubya's blushing, and all the other women are looking at someone in the crowd. Hey, I could see why somebody would do that. It would be easy to get carried away!

Re your "he's beautiful" remark, on Sunday I re-read the post-September 11 magazines I have, featuring W. On page after page, he was the one my eyes are drawn to, almost without exception. Sometimes there are others near or around him who also take my attention, such as one absolutely magnificent photo of him going down a receiving line of firefighters and one youngish (maybe in his 20's?) man has taken off his hat and is standing facing the president, shaking his hand, with the most wonderful look of the deepest respect imaginable. It is as if you can read his thoughts: I am so honored to meet you, sir. Deepest honor I could ever imagine. How can we thank you enough for what you are doing for us? I will never forget this, ever. But even when there are others around him who are really worth seeing, W always has a special glow, a special ability to draw my attention. Then I turned to one double-page article about the Sotheby's price-fixing scandal, and I was shocked at how dead, how lifeless, how repellant, how dark -- as if absorbing all the light around them into some black hole -- all four men in the photo looked. I didn't see the caption at first, and was wondering how on earth these dregs were related to W doing anything ... turns out, they weren't! I realize that there is a tremendous anointing on our president, from the Lord, to do his job, and that accounts for very much of what we are all seeing, but he is a special guy, regardless, and more special because of Christ in him.

I usually try not to make comments on looks, but that first picture is actually breathtaking.

God made us with skin and when He blesses and anoints the one who inhabits it, you get the kind of result that even the Bible calls attention to. King David comes to mind, even as a youth following his father's flock, before the power of God came on him to lead, he was described as having "beautiful eyes," in the King James. Here's the verse in the NIV. "So he [Samuel] sent and had him brought in. He [David] was ruddy, with a fine appearance and handsome features. Then the LORD said, "Rise and anoint him; he is the one." I Samuel 16:12

I'm glad you commented!

I am bumping # 1 too. I would love to have been able to hear what was said at that speech.. Can I find it on CSpan?? Of course not. Let's just keep Enroning everything to death. It wouldn't be so bad if the Dims really wanted to find out what the heck went wrong with those criminals running Enron. They just want to try to smear our President and tear him down any way they can. God I can't stand Hollins and Daschle and their ilk. Forgive me for polluting such a beautiful thread with my rant - I just fuming here. Can I ask a favor ?? I'm a total spaz with the computer. Can we compare and contrast the #1 photo tonight with the #1 photo you showed the other night. A closeup that I beleive someone on the dose said was a sure brochure quality pic. I think it was from the SOTU speech. Thanks again for all your hard work.

Welcome! This is a daily feature on FR, thanks to rintense, who started it on Inauguration Day ..... and then we wouldn't let her stop ..... *grins*

I say daily but it's whenever there are photos on the wire services of the President or First Lady .... when he goes to Camp David for the weekend, there usually aren't new pictures so we have to content ourselves with looking at past threads of what we call the Dose.

If you want to be put on her *ping* list, I'm sure rintense will be glad to add you ..... then you can find the thread each evening after she posts it by doing a self-search.

Just reply to rintense and ask her to add you to the ping list ...... or send her a private reply.

I actually found it, Rintense. It was the first pic from the dose of 1/31. Oh my, this is going to be tough. I keep telling my children that if you are ugly on the inside, it will show on your face and in your eyes. I do believe the eyes are the window to the heart and soul. If this is true then we have ourselves a very good President. Thank God.

I just saw the President's speech on C-Span .... missed it this morning. In that absolutely georgeous picture in #1, if you can drag your eyes away from the President for a moment, over towards the left is a cute red-head. During the speech, she was behind the President, though not directly behind him so she wasn't on camera all the time. But when the camera pulled back just a little, you could see her.

Let me tell you, that girl is a BUSH BABE! She would fit right in here. She was just beaming every time I saw her ...... and who can blame her!!! ..... *grins*

I have been very accepting of you lascivious, lascivious women drooling over the President. That is until today, that is. Now I find my wife and her cackling women bridge players doing the same. They are now closer to 70 and not too honest about they are over or under 70.

She accuses me of being jealous. I don't know why I should be jealous of a good looking, masculine man who is results-oriented and a person easily judged by his meritorious actions rather than words. Well, maybe I am a little jealous.

Thanks for the posts rintense. I agree the pictures with flag are always the best.

From the picture, it looks like she (the red head with the pony tail) may have said something to him that made him blush a bit. A lot of the other people are looking back at her. She's a Bush Babe that's for sure.

Notice the background. Whomever is in charge of the way the backdrops look does a great job. Everywhere the President or one of the Cabinet members appear there are huge signs and banners, flags, etc. to make it aesthetically appealing. It's very well done.

I haven't posted in a long time. But I check in quite often to see the pics etc. I am very proud of our president.

He has a smile that could bring the sun out on a rainy day - absolutely gorgeous. It's so great to see him with our brave young men and women of the military and see that they love him as much as we do, just as it's great to see him with kids, or his and our First Lady, Laura, or his parents, or Jeb, or Spot and Barney... - Dang - it's wonderful to see him with everyone, or by himself...or any way we can see him.

Please keep up your wonderful work - I hope he knows what a national treasure you are for bringing him to us every day.

Lurker Takes the Plunge

Freepers, I've been lurking for some time now, and I knew THIS was the event to take the plunge and post something. I had the unique privilege to attend Mr. Bush's address to the servicemembers at Eglin Air Force Base on Monday, me being one of them. Nothing I've seen on television, to include his inauguration, State of the Union addresses, and War on Terrorism addresses, can compare to being in that hangar Monday morning.

I got there about an hour before he was scheduled to speak, and I was extremely late. The hangar is HUGE, and I was about 3/4 of the distance across the hangar from the stage. The audience was noisy with antici-PA-tion. From what I could see, the audience was entirely military and families, with maybe a few civic leaders thrown in. The first wave of cheering started when Air Force One was spotted on final approach into the base. A beautiful airplane, and not just by its intrinsic value. Then the audience REALLY started humming.

When he was introduced (by Jeb, who else?), it was plaining evident by his posture, by the way he travelled back and forth across the stage, and by the genuine warm smile on the man's face as he waved to his audience and his airmen, he was happy to be there. I can't speak for my fellow airmen, but I believe, judging from the length and volume of the applause and whistling, we displayed our appreciation, our respect, and our commitment to our Commander-in-Chief. That, plus we were happier-than-hell that he stopped by to say "hi". After his arrival on stage, while he was being introduced by Jeb, Dubyah took a seat. He wasn't postured. The man SLOUCHED in his chair! It wasn't a casual slouch, either. It was the kind of comfortable chair-slouching that proper mothers everywhere (including his, if she would've been there) would reprimand their sons for doing by smacking them on the head.

I don't want to go into details of his speech on this post, because I think it should have its own thread. I will share a few bits, though. He mentioned a local airman that had just returned from the front lines in time to be with his (the airman's) wife for the birth of their first children, TWINS! He congratulated the family, then he said something to the effect of "As a father of twins myself, you're gonna be busy," alluding to the stories of his twins that have made the evening news and supermarket rags. There were a few other comments along those same lines.

He then went into his proposed FY 2003 DoD budget, and the resulting military pay raises. Raised the roof with that info. Got into discussing the involvement of the local military community in the war on terrorism. After he finished speaking, he turned to those airmen you see pictured behind him, went down the line and shook everyone's hand (that he could get to). I remember seeing a news clip of ex-President Clinton during his term, in the same scenario (maybe from Bosnia, or somewhere): moving down a line of troops on stadium seats, he was shaking hands, but what struck me was he was HAVING TO REACH INTO FORMATION to get a handshake from anyone past the first row. Dubyah didn't have that problem. He then came down into the floor audience, and pressed flesh all the way out the door. I think he would have been perfectly happy, time permitting, to work his way around the entire hangar (of 7 or 8 thousand people). One of the things that struck me as interesting was the relaxed posture of the Secret Service. I got the impression that they were there, not because they NEEDED to be there, but only because they HAD to be there. Even though there was a crowd around the President, they didn't appear to be worried he might get mobbed or crushed by the crowd. Mutual respect all around.

I can't describe well enough in words the atmosphere in that hangar. Suffice to say, I'm just starting to come down from my high, and the buzz should last for quite a while. It was an experience that I will remember for the rest of my life. Definitely tops the New Year's Eve party at Trafalgar Square in London in 1989/90.

Active duty. I'm in AFSOC, stationed at Duke Field, which is part of the Eglin property.
Enlisted in '88. Realized where my priorities were, and wanted to do something different. Got what I wanted.
Almost got out after the November '97 presidential election results were announced.
Now, I'm not going anywhere unless I'm dragged, kicking and screaming, out the door, after you pry my fingers from the door frame.
Anyone: how do I attach a pic to my post? Using NS 4.76
