Woman Sentenced for Castration Death
Wed Feb 27, 2:18 PM ET
BUTLER, Pa. (AP) A transsexual was sentenced to up to 11 years in prison Wednesday for performing a crude castration that led to her husband's death.
Tammy Felbaum, 43, was sentenced to 5 ½ to 11 years for involuntary manslaughter and aggravated assault in last year's death of her sixth husband.
"I loved my husband. I don't deserve this," Felbaum said.
She had argued that James Felbaum, 40, was found in a filthy trailer home that contained a makeshift operating room.
His wife argued that he castrated himself while she was sleeping to prove he wouldn't cheat on her.
But prosecutors said Tammy Felbaum performed the procedure, and said the man died from the pain of a castration and the effects of a painkiller. The coroner said Felbaum choked on his own vomit.
Tammy Felbaum told authorities she performed the operation on herself when she was 21 and later had a sex-change operation.
She was also found guilty of reckless endangerment and unauthorized practice of medicine, but did not receive any prison time on those charges.

I'm not too far from Butler. A "he-she" in them parts does not have a long life expectancy. Butler City itself is, how shall we say, interesting. Butler county itself is good to go. But around these parts, the trans-testacles don't fly...

OK, I'm really confused. Why would a male - transexed into a female body to be wife to a male - want "her" male mate to be changed into a female???? So they could be transexual lesbians????
...talk about defeating your purpose...

This woman, IMO What woman? That is a mutilated man. Check his genes if you doubt it. I'm sure you'll find XY not XX. (There are other possibilities but they are really rare)

Sorry, I meant to put 'woman' in quotes, like I did with the word "her".

I remember when this story was first posted a while back. Seems the police were also rather confused about a cat or two that was strung up in the back yard. The story had some really, really strange twists to it.

Felbaum did castrate at least one of her previous husbands. (and link) Thanks for the info. Like I really needed that! But, you know what they say about curiousity.

Hmmmm...actually, this person sounds just like what I've read about some serial killers (homo, bi, transexual or wannabe and torturing small animals).

unauthorized practice of medicineNow theres a euphamism. Castration belongs in medicine like warm fuzzies belong in sadism.

Every cell in "Tammy"'s body has the male XY chromosome pair. Sex cannot be changed my surgical mutilation and hormone injection. The headline is a slur on women.
There is such a thing as an XY female, albeit very rare. Your definition would reclassify their gender as male despite their physicial characteristics from birth.

His wife argued that he castrated himself while she was sleeping to prove he wouldn't cheat on her. Sounds reasonable to me.
