I think it's time for Dashole to outline how he would handle the situation. After all isn't that what we pay him for.     He's not like an outsider looking in.

I think it would now be fair to ask all democrats running for office the following questions:

1) Do you support Daschle's statements?

2) If so, what would you have done different in the war on terror? and

3) If not are you willing to denounce Senator Daschle?

IMHO, the Democrats have been looking at their poll numbers and have decided they are toast if they don't bring down Bush's popularity. But Bush's popularity will only come down by either a blunder on his part or by Democrat attacks. They waited for the blunder and it didn't happen. Now they have gone to plan "B": Attack the President.

Did you notice how many Democrats suddenly found their voice? Did you notice the press going after Bush and Fleischer about the Clinton comments? This is a concerted effort to bring Bush's popularity down for the fall elections.

I saw a Fox/OD poll yesterday which asked registered voters what they thought was the biggest issue facing the US. The #1 reponse: the economy. Terrorism and education tied for second.

The congresscritters, lead on leashes by Senator Tommy, concentrated with fervor on a particular issue. Campaign finance reform didn't make the list.

I would suggest to the Senator that he ought to stick to these non-issues and let the responsible and able people deal with the war.

But Daschle says that if Osama bin Laden, Taliban leader Mullah Omar and other al Qaeda honchos aren't found, "we will have failed."

Using Daschle logic we must assume that Roosevelt failed in WW II since he died before Hitler and Hirohito were found.

Daschle continues to be his own worse enemy and Hillary Clinton's favorite opposition for the 2004 nomination.

But here's the real issue: Historically, American politicians have fought each other bitterly, but generally they've had the sense to unite against outside threats.

Particularly while troops were on the ground, in harm's way.

The old motto was: American politics ends at the water's edge - the idea being, you don't encourage the enemy by appearing to be divided.

Will Daschle and his fellow Dems (Sens. Robert Byrd and Joe Biden also skewered Bush) trash that principle?

Will the Senate leader rend national unity to gain partisan advantage - to gain personal advantage?

He may try - indeed, he may already be trying.

But we doubt that the American people will let him get away with it for long.

This is politics, pure and simple. little tommy daschle is trying to gains seats in the House and the Senate. PLUS, he wants to start Prez Election 2004 campaign early, I think. Tough toenails, tommy. Sit down and shut up. Bush is tryin' ta run a war. You'll LOSE this one, FRiend. Once again you attack Bush, and once again it will come back to YOU!

I watched the shows last night and the Daschole defenders were simply ridiculous. They're spinning the story to say this is a matter of freedom of speech, that Daschole has every right to criticize the President and it's the constitutional duty of Congress to oversee the war, while denying that Daschole was criticizing Bush.

For Pete's sake, Daschole runs the Senate (and the country, if you ask me). He can have the Senate debate the war any day of the week and twice on Sundays, if he wants. That's within his power. He doesn't need to go whining to the press about this.

The Greta Van Susteren and Art Torres double team show was particularly disgusting. Attention Fox News, you're going to turn off your base of supporters, if you keep that kneepad broad on your channel. I didn't watch her on CNN and I'm not going to put up with her cr*p on Fox. I can't be the only one, who thinks this way.

Daschle has not only been reading the FR postings from anti-war.com but is trying to recruit staff from that exalted site for his upcoming campaign.

Daschle, who has an eye on the White House, suggested President Bush is thoughtlessly prosecuting America's war on terror.

"I think there is expansion without at least a clear direction," the nation's top Democrat said.

This little weasely skunk needs to have his musk bag removed so he wouldn't be so odorous!

Be interesting to see what would happen if Republicans retake control of the Senate in the fall. I bet Jeffords would try to return to majority. What a turncoat, coward, etc.

The Demorats are morally bankrupt with no political issue. Bunch of losers!!
