I attended Catholic school from K-12...In the late 70's, our high school librarian, a nun, would "sanitize" the Sports Illustrated swim suit issue...
She started in the early days by rubber stamping over the exciting bits...but as years passed she resorted to performing a radical swim suitectomy...
The neutered magazine was placed in its binder and hung unceremoniously on the periodicals rack...
It became a yearly event...I swear I used to see a hint of a smile while she performed the ritual...
Imagine my surprise one year when I discovered the Cheryl Tiegs fishnet bathing suit picture...unmolested...
It was quickly liberated from the library...and has since been lost to time...- insert moment of silence here
