DUBOB 10- the *best of* the Dark Underbelly Series
various links | 03-30-02 | backhoe

Posted on 03/30/2002 5:27:37 AM PST by backhoe

A few notes from your compiler:

1- after several attempts to better organize these, I just gave up- too much information that overlaps- so I am going back and culling the "most egregious, most informative, and least talked-about" links.
2- I started at the beginning, going forward in time; soon I will go to the most recent and work back, aiming towards the middle as a stopping point.
3- I will reserve DUBOB 10 for the most blantant examples I find, and continue to update DUBOB 9 with the garden variety of "stories the Media doesn't like to talk about."
4- and remember, these are just starting points- not only are there links within links to follow, if you see something of interest, use control-n to pop up another browser and start following and searching.... you will be surprised at how much you find.

Keep these links handy for searching:

The recent high-profile unraveling of leftist icons, including historian Doris Kearns Goodwin for plagiarism in parlaying the past, Professor Michael Bellesiles for concocting fantasy firearms statistics about yesterday's America in an attempt to disarm today's nation, even as far back as Alfred Kinsey, the would-be sexologist who cooked the books on America's sex habits way back in 1948, is just the tip of the iceberg. When we look at these events in isolation, we miss the key message: all are elements of the same frayed tenets of leftist philosophy, now accelerating in a tailspin from which there is no recovery.

Thanks very much- I started this about 27 hours ago, naively thinking that an hour and a half would be plenty of time to cull the 'best of' links...whew!

I was surprised at how many posts which had good, useful data have been deleted, particularly a lot of Cuba/terrorism articles. The "Gay Wars" seem to have taken a lot of hits, too. I know there are problems on any board with provocatuers and trolls hijacking threads, but a lot of information was lost, too.

Americans need more information, not less- we are going to see a real flare-up in the Carribean/Latin America axis, and in Africa... and the Middle East, and we need to stay up to speed on these areas.

Agreed, but can you add a few more hours to the day so we can digest the info? :)

Bump for your excellent work! Hey, I'm just happy I could find your thread with the new format this morning. I didn't even know where I was when I first logged on. (Guess I should have taken the time to try the Beta version of the forum). Oh well, it took a few minutes, but I think I can navigate FR again. Thanks again!

Thank you both....

Eaglette, I'm glad I'm not the only one having a problem with the new format- it is driving these old eyes nuts trying to comprehend what's on the page!

I've always had difficulty following a lot of on-screen information ( a puzzlement- the same page, printed, poses no problems, but I discovered this late in life after computers became common ) and I am having a devil of a time finding things. SonnaB!tch, it's always something!

I prefer to print articles to read offline too rather than having to read everything on screen. Not only better for your eyes, but it frees up my phone line as I still use dial up access to the Net. Sometimes it's not practical to print print everything I read so I just have to bit the bullet and read online...oh well. At least for now, we have access to "Worlds" of info at the the touch of our finger tips. Have a great day my friend!

I really do believe the web will have a more profound effect on human knowledge than moveable type did centuries ago- neither of my nieces can recall a time when they could not get reams of information just by "looking it up on the 'net." It sure is different- and better- than the not-so-old days of "take a yellow notepad to the library and hope you find one book on a subject...."

Why, thank you kindly! I found a lot of links that still have some relevance to current events, and some that fall into the "better not forget this" category, too.

We need more Niger Innis's, J.J. Jackson's, Cinnamon Stillwell's, and folks like that, speaking the truth and making the black community realistically confront its problems. What the white community can do is support folks like these.

This useless program - I was listening to an interview with one of its biggest proponents, and when pressed, she couldn't name a single certain way that this registry would reduce gun crime - originally supposed to cost $120M and be mostly self-financing, has now cost nearly $1B. But of course the gov't doesn't mind wasting over a billion dollars of taxpayer money, despite all the existing programs that need the money, as they know they can always come back to us for more.

As Zimbabwe enters 2003, the entire formal business sector is being driven underground and the elite of Robert Mugabe’s Zanu PF party are acquiring revered names on the company register at fire-sale prices; several hundred, perhaps several thousand, evicted white farmers surreptitiously try to keep some production going, risking jail terms; independent journalists live in a nebulous state; and the only daily newspaper not controlled by the state is in trouble.
I am speechless. This is so beyond the pale, it has to be a chargeable offense. I hope Rush gets hold of this and makes it public on his show. That, at least, would be a start.

You'd be amazed at how many liberals think that weath is something that just happens. There's this big mountain of goodies that just appeared by chance or accident. Unfortunately the nasty, evil, white, male Republicans got to the pile first and took most of these naturally abundant goodies. If you don't believe me, just go to Dem Underground where this idea is prevalent.

This rewriting of forestry management rules came about because of public outrage over the devastating Clinton legacy wildfires that burned 7 million acres of forests this past season.
The old rule, written just before lame duck Clinton exited the Whitehouse door, closes tens of millions of acres of forests to everyone. No recreation. No hunting. No fishing. No logging. No touching. No looking. No people. No nothing. Without changing the collectivist rules prevailing in our forests today, millions more acres will burn tomorrow, say federal foresters.
OMG not local control! Hopefuly the locals WILL take the ball and run. The problem is most "average people" work when these meetings are held, this is not a problem with the treehuggers.
