Al-Qaeda terrorists are believed to be participating in attacks on Israel in a bid to help defend Yassir Arafat's forces on the West Bank, Israeli intelligence has told the U.S.

"U.S. government officials say that Israeli intelligence has told them about the possibility of 30 al-Qaeda fighters that have made their way here to the West Bank," reported Fox News Channel's Steve Harrigan from the West Bank late Thursday. "They have helped to carry out attacks against Israeli military."

"U.S. government officials stress that they have not been able to independently confirm this report but that they are taking it seriously, especially in light of the fact that there has been improvement in the Palestinian arsenal in recent weeks," Harrigan added.

He cited improvements in Palestinian anti-tank weaponry as evidence of possible outside help from al-Qaeda.

So, are we still in agreement with the U.N. then to have Israel pull out? What happened to our war on terrorism?

Yes, what happened to our war to root out Al Qaeda wherever it could be found?

I should think that if Al-Crapa is helping Arafat then the punishment that applied in Afghanistan should also apply here. I fail to see why strikes in those positions would be any different.

Apparently Colon Bowell is trying to turn Judea and Samaria into a safe haven for Al Qaeda. What a total disgrace.

Doesn't that depend on what Mr. Powell says?
You call him a discrace?
You have no clue.
You are making assumptions far outside the scope of your knowledge.(mine too).

If he showed up in Ramallah, Osama would have to meet with Shimon Peres, which is a punishment equivalent of imprisonment.

Gee, Arafat is in an alliance with the terrorist gang that destroyed the WTC and much of the Pentagon ... and he still hopes that the US will restrain Israel. I am shocked, truly shocked.

I'm no fan of Powell, but: Powell is doing his job. He is the "good cop" to Rumsfeld and Chenney's "bad Cop". This is the game to manipulate foreign governments. The plan is to make the Arabs think we're sympathetic to their concerns while pushing our own agenda. I think when Chenney visited the Mideast he was telling the Arabs what we are doing NOT asking for their advise. Powell is philosophically more "liberal" than Bush's other advisers, but he is still much more conservative than the Democrats.

Nah, they just dropped by Wal-Mart and picked those up.
