A what's the point, it won't be dark again around here until September bump. Tonight might be a poor choice for staying up an hour late?

Of course the energy saved by getting up in the dark and running the air conditioner longer in the evening is somewhat offset by lost work due to scheduling mishaps.

Beginning Sunday, we are on Chicago time instead of New York timeMore correct to say, "Beginning Sunday, Chicago is on our time!"

One of the reasons my employer moved its customer service center and accompanying 15 well-paying jobs from an economically depressed Indiana county to a neighboring state is because of all the semi-annual scheduling disruption and confusion from not being in synch with the rest of the region. So in other words, he was too stupid to do the math.
Cry me a river.

Federal Law doesn't require that California must participate. Of course it doesn't, but during our artificial energy crisis and Gray out experience, our genius legislature suggested double daylight savings time to save energy, so that maximum heat would hit about 5:00PM and the sun set about 11:00PM. When you live in what is basically a desert, the heat stays until the sun sets. When you have the Grayster in charge, fat chance that anything will change.
As far as I am concerned, all of us must suffer, so that the few can frolic in the park for an extra hour at night. The sad thing is that the real working people are the ones that suffer. If I had my choice I would sleep until noon every day and then stay up all night, however I must work to support the ones who are leading that life style.
