Evidently you have never been divorced with a custody issue, have you? The article is true in the whole nation, not just the author's location.

He's enumerated some of the more glaring abuses here, and pointed out one of the biggest lies in feminism. If ever gender inequality was institutionalized, it is in "family" courts. But the harridans from NOW seem to overlook that deficiency whenever they begin their shrill howl.

Having worked as a probation officer in the family court, I can tell you that most of what this man says is true. In all of the time I spent in the courtroom, I can think of only one time when a woman was brought up short for trying to manipulate the system.

Great article!!!! Re previous comment - maybe mom's that take advantage of dad's in "family" (ha!) court are the ones that need some cheese with their wine. LOL Seen this kind of crap happen. Dad's are TOLD what the agreement is going to be... whether they like it or not. Mom's on the other hand pretty much get whatever they want. Disgusting.

Yes, it has always ticked me off to hear NOW assert that women are mistreated by the Family Court. It is patently untrue.

In my experience, it's rare for males to petition for custody of their kids from the outset.

Where does the court-sanctioned extortion end, and the father's rights begin? The courts typically are enforcing divorce settlements and the laws set forth by the state.
The author is no doubt felt abused by the system, and I advise anyone who feels this way to heed the authors plea and contact his state representatives.
If a father remarries and has more children
.Shouldn't the father be able to provide for all of his children equally? The courts feel only the first of his children count.
One must remember that having children today is a choice and having had children one is responsible for their welfare. If one can not afford additional children one should refrain from further procreation. I understand that accidents happen, but when they do one has to pay the piper and do what is necessary to deal with the consequences.
If you seek a divorce make sure you study the subject thoroughly and get the best and most experienced lawyer you can afford the divorce decree you get is something you will live with the rest of your life. So if you get a bad one its going to be bad for a long time.

I finally won custody of my son (only because his mom could not stop using drugs) but she told so many lies and I had to disprove all them compared to her never being held accountable. Then when I finally won, the court said she only had to pay 100.00 a month because she was temporaily in jail for traffic warrents and could not be expected to pay any more then that.
On the other hand I have seen where men were told they had to pay X amount regardless of being in jail, injured, or out of work and jailed when they did not pay. This was over two years ago and I still have not recieved a dime from my sons incubater.
If dads can be called sperm doners, women should be called incubaters.

Thank goodness it is now Former Family Court Judge.

"Former Family Court Judge." Figures. How many lives did you screw up chewing out men for "whining?" Feel better?
To: buccaneer81
I said it was rare, not unknown. As someone said above, the courts are typically simply OK'ing a decree drafted by the attornies, and agreed-upon by the parties.
