Right there is your college's problem, Sir Peter! Your professors should NOT be teaching their "beliefs" in a SCIENCE course. Your professors should be teaching SCIENCE.

Most scientists agree that life on earth is around four billion years old.

In fact, ALL real scientists agree that the earth is vastly older than 6000 years. I doubt there has been a paper published in a REAL scientific journal, positing that the earth is less than millions of years old, in more than 50 years.
