BILL O'REILLY, HOST:In the Personal Story segment tonight, a controversial new book called Harmful to Minors. It comes out in May, and already some Americans are steaming mad, calling the book evil. That's because it says, among other things, that sex is not harmful to children. It is a vehicle for self-knowledge. And that the threat of pedophilia and molestation is exaggerated in America.

I saw the interview. This woman is frightening!

She demonstrated the ultimate illogic, and convoluted reasoning of the amoral left. She didn't respond accurately to a thing O'Reilly said, refused to admit the obvious (that the book she wrote the preface for is hideously evil), and smiled all the while.

Satan is hard at work in this country, and Elders is the personification of the success he is achieving. We need to be in constant prayer for America to counter this evil from within.

Bravo for Bill O'Reilly. He really nailed Clinton's sleazebag Surgeon General's hide to the wall. Now, reasonable people can differ on whether Jocelyn's Elders' advocacy of masturbation by adults as a sexual practice is harmdul or not. Where I and every one else on this forum and in this country, apart from Elders and the woman she wrote the foreword to the book for, is we have a total aversion to the sexual exploitation of children by adults. That is pedophilia. That is wrong. And that is EVIL. Its just too bad as someone as educated as Elders doesn't get it even after O'Reilly confronted her on it. Then again its probably fitting she's so obtuse and morally equivalent on sexuality, since she has all the ethics of William Jefferson Clinton.

And what's REALLY disgusting, is that in another context it would strike one as absolutely hilarious, is liberals claim everything they do is for the children. I can't believe a lowlife like Elders thinks an adult sexually touching a child can be good for the children. Surely she hasn't heard of reputable studies that have demonstrated a proven link between childhood sexual abuse and children growing up to become molesters themselves? Isn't that reason enough not abuse a child's mind and body and to allow our children to grow up to be themselves with safe and happy childhoods? Yes, sexuality is rampant in the adult culture, but that's no reason to expose children to it. Elders' writing a foreword to such an EVIL book is simply additional evidence an M.D degree means doctors, like an authority, can sometimes be wrong. And this woman is simply, plainly wrong about the existence of a sexual attraction perforce between adults and children. It may well exist, but its still WRONG and moreover its ILLEGAL. Someone should explain the facts of life to Dr. Elders as O'Reilly's attempts to get them through seemed wasted on her.

The eldest of eight children, Dr. Elders was a college freshman before she made her first visit to a doctor. She was awarded a full scholarship at age 15. Upon graduation at age 18, she entered the U. S. Army as a first lieutenant and received training as a physical therapist. She attended medical school on the G. I. Bill and completed her residency in pediatrics and endocrinology. She also holds a Master's degree in biochemistry.

Minnie Joycelyn Elders was born in 1933 in Schaal, Arkansas, the eldest of 8 children. At age 15, when she started attending Philander Smith College in Little Rock on a scholarship, she had never seen a physician in her life. She graduated 3 years later, at an age when most children begin their college careers. She became a U.S. Army first lieutenant in 1952, and then a physical therapist.

The G.I. Bill helped Joycelyn through the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). In 1960 she interned at the University of Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis. After she completed her pediatric residency at UAMS, she got a Master of Science degree in biochemistry from the U of A; in 1976 she joined the UAMS faculty as a professor of pediatrics and in 1978 a certified pediatric endocrinologist. Dr. Elders was Director of the Arkansas Department of Health from 1988-93, after having received that appointment from Bill Clinton.

There is a world of difference between two teenagers, in love for the first time, experimenting with sex and an adult debasing the innocence of a younster or child. It wasn't even 50 years ago that girls over 16 but under 18 could marry (in some states without parental consent).

Despite the free-wheeling attitude of sickos like Elders, I plan on teaching my children to respect their Lord and their bodies, as my mother taught me. Chastity is a virtue that should be held dear; too many friends of mine bought into the lie spewed by Elders and other would-be Clintonites and now live with regrets.

The Blue Lagoon was nothing more than a teenage sex flick designed to encourage sex play among the targetted high school audience who came of age during Reagan's Adminstration. The movie was only one example of the lack of family values in Hollywierd.

We can easily point to other recent films which show underage characters or actors in various scenes which suggest sexual overtones.

Well, this might not be the best place to defend Dr. Elders, but I didn't think the interview was as bad as some have said; in fact, I thought O'Reilly came off looking the worst. Specifically, I'm thinking about the quote that said something like: "Sex with a child does not a pedophile make." O'Reilly was in a real huff about this one, but Elders had a pretty good reply. She said the quote didn't mean that an adult who has sex with a child is not a pedophile, but rather that a child who has sex, perhaps due to abuse, will not necessarily become a pedophile himself. O'Reilly was so worked up that he never heard Elders' answer or responded to it, and it was impossible to be sure what the quote really meant because O'Reilly never put it in context. Elders' interpretation made sense, and overall I think she had more credibility since she stayed calm and had probably read the book. I doubt O'Reilly actually read it; he probably had a staffer skim for the worst sounding parts. Moreover, Dr. Elders said several times that pedophilia is obviously wrong.
