Has anyone on the Right taken Grover Norquist to task?
Various FR threads | April 11, 2001 | self

Posted on 04/11/2002 10:22:04 AM PDT by Gurn

A couple weeks back someone posted an article from the New Republic about Grover Norquist's going in the tank for Islam, and engineering Dub's "Islam is a religion of Peace" PR strategy. There was also an article from National Review Online on the topic.

Someone in one of the threads mentioned that Grover is on the NRA board of directors. I informed the NRA that I wouldn't renew my membership if that remained the case.

My question is, have there been any recent developments? I know that Weyrich and a couple other folks had mildly chastised Norquist; but it seems that if he wishes to stay in the conservative fold, he needs to quit tanking for groups (CAIR; AMC) that tank for Hamas and Hizbollah.

Thoughts from anyone?

I've got a thought for you:
Don't cut off your nose to spite your face!

The NRA, with or without Grover Norquist, is the single most effective group championing the rights of gunowners.

If the situation in the Mideast is more important to you than your Constitutional rights, by all means, quit the NRA!

There is only so much time in the day. We've been busy with the Norwegians, Billy Graham, Pope John Paul, the French, Henry Ford, Pope Pius, the Brits, Richard M. Nixon, Colin Powell, Germans, Spaniards, George W. Bush, many Christians, IBM, Poles, the Catholic Church, Italy, Austria, Holland and a scores of others who are antisemites or antisemtic.

On top of that, we had spend time defending the ADL, Clinton crook Rahm Emmanuel, the ACLU, Lazar Kaganovitch, and a Jewish Ladies group in Louisiana which is suing the state over "Choose Life" license plates which "advance Christian Fundamentalism."

Been a busy few weeks but don't worry, we'll get around to smashing the man who helped the GOP wrestle congress from 40 years of Democrat rule pretty soon. First things first is all.

Norquist doesn't adhere to true conservative positions on any issue.
He's merely a suck-up to those with the fattest wallets.

Why would the NRA have a man on its board who shills for radical islamists?

Not trying to get in a flame war here, but I try to buy products and services, for example, from companies who don't force a gay-rights agenda on their employees. (I switched from AT&T for that reason.)

That said, I think the greatest danger to this country is radical Islam. As such, I will not belong to an organization with someone like him on its board. Read the two threads our friend linked. Then, tell me your thoughts.

Have a great day.

Have you read the threads/articles? And, do you have no problem with Norquist pimping for towel heads, and getting them within arms' link of our President?

Your are right. Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and the Black congressional caucus are much better friends of Jews and Israel than Grover Norquist. We need to put our support behind them and other liberals such as Noam Chomsky, Adam Shapiro and Ron Kuby. True patriots and the best friends Jews ever had. Down with Grover Norquist! Down with Colin Powell! Down with George W. Bush!

God Bless Norquist. The Reagan coalition is economic libertarians and social conservatives, not to mention just plain folks. Unlike Larry Klayman (ostracized for not being a team player) Norquist is the ultimate team player and has a history of scoring points for our team. To respond to the issue, in my area, the moslems (mostly Palestinian ancestry but some Pakistani and other) are all conservative Republicans...Pro-life, Pro-2d amendment, low taxes, no government regulation, etc. In the recent IL primary more went for Conservative O'Malley for Governor than non-Moslems. Gurn, concerned about the NRA? Why punish Norquist for speaking up for others who are also pro-second amendment. These internecine squabbles is one reason the mainstream writes off pro-second amendment activists like you.

I think the mainstream -- those who care -- who write off 2nd-Amendment activist like me pay more attention to squabbles between Neil Knox and his hardliners and the "softies" at the NRA.

Grover Norquist is shilling for the enemies of this country. Read Emerson's American Jihad (I have). Grover is pimping for the same "non-profit" groups who fund Hamas, and the same PR groups (CAIR and AMC) who won't denounce Hizbollah. These are facts.

Grover is a bad man.A traitor to America and our way of life. Unlike Joseph Lieberman. Senator Lieberman is going to filibuster drilling in ANWR. That will show those Saudis we mean business. Charles Schumer, Jerrold Nadler, Barbara Boxer, Diane Feinstein, Rosa Delauro, Bernie Sanders,Russ Feingold, Ralph Nader and many, many others are joining Joey in the battle. Thank God for these fine American patriots who are making sure, unlike Grover who is on the take from Arabs, that America buys as much of our energy overseas and from Arab countries rather than despoil our pristine wilderness.

Keep up the fine work, Gurn. We need to expose every traitor such as Grover Norquist we can.

So...you didn't read the articles, huh? I guess liberals like Frank Gaffney and Paul Weyrich are just smearing him, too. Thanks for coming out.

Priorities, Gurn, priorites. Getting Grover is your first priority, go for it.

I'm concerned about what those in positions of real power are doing. People such as Lieberman, Daschle and Gephardt. Democrats.

Within the conservative movement, Grover does have "real power." We can't do anything about Daschole and Dick (unless we live in their states).

Would you at least agree that Grover's cozying up to radical islamists is troubling?

The Reagan coalition is economic libertarians and social conservatives,

Sounds like a bunch of "economic libertarian" revisionism to me.
I guess you never heard the term "Reagan Democrat".

When Islam takes over the world as they are doing just by there breeding habits I hope Im long gone but if you are alive I only hope the Mohammedans spare you and Grover. Islam has declared war on us, yet we havent on them. Also, many Muslims marched for the palestinians yet none have taken to the streets with the same amount of outrage as to the events of 9/11. That doesnt make you wonder?

Great post!

This Middle East conflict is about as one-sided as the standoff between the Branch Davidians and the FBI/ATF.

Only difference is that I never heard the FBI crying that the Davidians were going "drive them into the sea."
