It was an absolutely great day at the Pentagon. Weather was fine and Patriots turned out in droves to pay homage to our fallen heroes and show support to our servicemen and women now in harm's way. I was the first to arrive, and frankly had been feeling a bit overwhelmed by what we are attempting to accomplish with the Patriots Rally for America. That said, as I stood alone on the knoll, Old Glory in hand, I reflected on what our country is going through, where I have been as a Marine in peace and in combat, what is important, and what is simply background noise. While I did not come up with any earth shattering revelations - I did feel a sense of peacefulness in the thought that what we will be doing on the grounds of the Washington Monument on 20 April is not only a good thing, it is the right thing. Sorry for the soapbox - as always visitors stopped by to ask why we are out there. Once we explained the why, the when, and the where they were very proud that American patriots would be out there laying it on the line for our great country. God Bless America!
