I can't stay awake long enough during the morning show so I don't know if it was mentioned (5am is wayyyy to early for me). The weekend's happenings were touched upon a bit with the 8am David Horowitz interview, but I think that focused more on what Horowitz saw in DC.

BTW, if you were watching KTVU Channel 2 news at the top of the hour, the Berzerkeley council voted 4-3 (2 abstentions) NOT to divest economically from Israel like they did in South Africa. There were about an equal amount of demonstrators outside on both sides.

I haven't seen anything yet on the newswires to post.

FYI ping. The Leftists/PLOers (Oops, I think they're calling themselves "peaceniks") will be marching again -
From: www.sf.indymedia.org

Saturday, April 27, 2002, San Francisco peace demonstration at 11 a.m., starting at 24th and Mission and marching to the UN Plaza. The contact number is 415/861-7444.

Are there any FReepers interested in countering them at the UN Plaza?

Hello, I am Carol, the women with the cane, who joined you and the small band of brave Americans to stand up to the rag-tag (and I mean that literally!) mob of anti-USA/western world "protesters" on April 20th in front of San Francisco's City Hall. My apologies for this delay in telling you and the others who read this message how proud I was to be with you (thanks to the guys who, seeing me standing about looking unhappy, spoke to me first about their reasons for being there!) I am grateful that you and the others provided a supportive team for me and anyone else who refused to let the vile event go unchallenged. We faced people who included illegal aliens, we were cursed and threatened, we were misquoted and misrepresented in the press, we found the police our tax dollars pay for could not protect our right to free speech and we were advised to hide or discard our nation's flags lest we be attacked by the "peace marchers" as we made our way along the streets those tax dollars paved and the marchers fouled. I was thrilled that everyone held his or her ground in the face of such abuse and I will stand beside any of you any time you stand up for America and her allies. (And, I still believe we could have taken that mob--1000/2000 to 1 odds was do-able! But at least as I looked at the excellent photos I could say:"No police were harmed in the making of this picture.") This understood, what I read on this site is often troubling and unsulting to me as a Gay women and one who has been successful in all the ways most of those at freerepublic seem to espouse. I am a law abiding, sensible, country-loving 1st generation American; I worked my way off welfare in my teens; I have achieved international honors in my profession; my bio is in Who's Who In The World; the firm I co-founded was twice on INC. Magazine's list of "America's 500 Fastest-Growing Private Companies"; I have a partner of 33 years who (along with me) has provided 1000s of jobs and paid many millions in taxes; I vote faithfully; I serve my community; I support my police and fire departments; I am nice to animals and I am even patient with socialist dupes. But, because I am Gay some at freerepublic would not have stood with me had you known that before I arrived. We Americans can not afford that diversion from the real issues at hand--the security and economic future of our nation, our core ideals and the next generation. Get over me. I am not the threat. I am your ally in this terrible fight. Later you can get back to hating me if you want, for now...let's win! P.S. Dear CCC: All the best to you and the others! Please feel free to forward this message to anyone you think should see it.

Proud to stand with you Carol...at the same time I love the sinner but hate the sin. Make no mistake about it, I believe you lifestyle to be wrong, but I'll drink a beer with you anytime, and if the cause is just, I'll march with you.

Welcome aboard Carol! Glad you enjoyed the report and pictures. Let me say first and foremost, I'd be honored and privileged to stand with you against the faces of evil.

As far as the homosexuality discussions go, yes, I’m sure you feel quite uncomfortable with the manner of what some Freepers project in their writings. I comment on those threads only once in a while but I hopefully try to keep it civil even when I disagree with the radical homosexual advocates.

Many people at this site, conservative and libertarian, would be rather content not to hear about what goes on in somebody's bedroom, gay or straight. I feel the same way, and get irritated when somebody’s sexuality is thrown in my face, gay or straight. I can’t pretend to understand why people engage in homosexual activity, but hey, it’s your life. Being a native of the Bay Area, I’ve befriended homosexuals, but usually stay clear of politics with them. :-)

At the same time, the radical homosexual movement really sets us off, from extreme groups like NAMBLA, ACT-UP, and those who want to force discussing sexuality on kids as young as five years old. Maybe you agree with us on some points, maybe not. And then some of the spokespeople such as Rosie O’Donnell, well, she has the ire of us just alone because of her anti-gun views. Her recently outing and advocacy only enflames us more.

Maybe it would be best if you didn't torture yourself with the gay threads, but if you do see any extreme language or advocacy of violence towards homosexuals, feel free to hit the abuse button as the owner of this site is against any violence, profanity, and personal attacks. Reasonable discussions of issues are highly encouraged. Heck, there are some threads on other topics I avoid because of the kooks that drive those threads. You just have to choose your battles wisely.

We also pride ourselves in being "politically incorrect" and exercising free speech. If you buck some of the leftist philosophies, you would be labeled politically incorrect too. An odd Freeper favorite in that vein could be Camille Paglia, a lesbian who’s a self-proclaimed "radical libertarian" and "dissident feminist." There are some views of hers I absolutely detest, and other views of hers that are right on the money.

With you being Jewish, a woman, and a lesbian, you certainly understand how somebody like you would fare in an Arab/Muslim country where homosexuals are jailed or even killed, not to mention women and/or Jews. On the way home from our little rally, I was commenting on how the homosexual community should come together like they do in other causes and come out against the vile hatred that we experienced on April 20. Homosexuals sure do know how to come together and rally. If you have ties, maybe that’s something you can work on.

In closing, do feel free to promote or keep up-to-date with any activism like we did two Saturdays ago that would be consistent with our conservative philosophy.

By the way, neat screenname :-)

Sorry, Big Al.

:>(

I am suprized anyone even sees my occasional obscure posts.

But I was using my Poetic License that I got from Dr. Zoo at the Institute of Phenomonology before it closed for restructuring.

Neverthelessormore, I will make it up to you with a picture of some of your favorite things.

Kenny comes through here a few times a year and we try to get together when he does...and I always have a little something for him to sign. (We hate coors, but what the heck, an endorsement is an endorsement)

He signed these and the Black Sirburban (sic) *LOL*

Might do a commission for him, can you believe it he is considering a snake?...Who'dove thunk that?

Nice work C3! Keep the group together as we still have work to do with the "National Day of Vigilance Against Terrorism" on Sept 11!
