"Americans are paranoid about everything that happens OUTSIDE of our borders. What in the hell does it take to get them to look INSIDE our own borders......at Washington?"

The American people firmly believe that OUR government is good, especially if it's their PARTY. When their PARTY is in the White House we can all sit back and relax in obvious comfort and security. No fear, no concerns about tomorrow = no brains any time it has to do with any government PARTY.
It's like people who believe the evening news is what's important. The lady who was raped, the child who was hit by a car are more important than the treaties your President signed today.
Ask why you see so much 'emotion' on FR and so few posts with 'verifiable facts'. 'emotion' runs the show here.

The other problem is the Washington pundits who live in Chevy Chase,Md, Arlington,Va. don't see illegal immigration problems, they are insulated. they don't live in California, and when they visit, they stay at the Beverly Hills Hotel, or the Bel Air Hotel, so they are insulated even here! In other words, they don't have a CLUE!!

However, note the average GNP differences, and since I don't plan on contributing $20,000 to each Mexican, to bring him up from $4k to $20k, that means you must contribute 40k, each year to bring him up to 'average'. Please send your money to Mexico city.

84 - "...Are you going to offer one or two bedrooms of your home to them initially?...
Why would I have to offer them a room in my home?"
As you are intent on giving away our country, and Since I only have one bedroom, it will have to be a beautiful seniorita to share with me, otherwise, you must give up another of your bedrooms too, so that makes at least 2 bedrooms.

125 - "the problem is I do not see any benefit to America whatsoever in our trading our national financial security for illegal aliens. If Mexicans or any other nationality want to come to America the number one rule is obey our laws! That means use the Immigration Service procedures to come into America, not swim across the Rio Grande and sneak in thinking American citizens should pay your medical bills, give you housing and free education and allow you to take jobs away from legal aliens."
The biggest problem, which everyone fails to mention is the cultural problem. The Mexican culture is invading the US along with the illegal aliens. That means that the corrupt culture which created the poor, corrupt state of mexico, is being brought to further corrupt and bankrupt our already 'liberally corrupt' state.
It is so corrupt, they even have a Mexican schedule of 'bribes' at the checkpoints 10 miles inside the Mexican border, when you drive into Mexico.

I find it truly amazing that journalism was so much better four years ago than it is today. The authors spoke about what they actually were thinking than trying to stay "inside" the line.
