Here's what we can do now:
Call Bishop Wilton Gregory, President of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops at (202) 541-3000, or send email to kschrage@diobelle.org. Let him know what you think of those priests and bishops who carry water for "Dignity" by teaching that homosexuality is an acceptable alternative sexual expression. Let him know as well that Courage is endorsed by the Pontificial Council for the Family, whereas Dignity has been banned.

Call the Bishop for your own diocese. (For contact information for Catholic dioceses in the US, go to www.usccb.org.) Let him know that you want the priests under his jurisdiction to support Courage groups in their parishes and to quit catering to gay activists who characterize themselves as "progessive" but who are in fact consciously trying to pervert Catholic moral teaching.

Wow ... the "crucifix" says it all where their god is concerned.

When the group sports a heretical logo, you have to figure it's going to be downhill from there.

I think spinkspur nailed it -- they are not going to address the Bishops, rather they will be there to address the media circus.

Oh man. I can't wait.

I hesitated providing a link to their site, but felt it was important to know what the enemy within has planned.

Catholics have a "right" to true Catholic teaching on consecrated ground. Wherever the misrepresentation of the faith is tolerated by bishops (including on the faculties on Catholic colleges and universities), the Church is undermined and degraded. The Catholic laity have a right to be protected from orchestrated assaults on the faith. Homosexualism does not belong in sanctuaries, sacristies, seminaries, or the faculty dining halls and lounges of Catholic colleges, universities, and...ahem...high schools. Why do bishops tolerate this? People have been complaining for years, long before the Boston Globe and CNN discovered homosexual abuse in the Catholic Church.

I wish I knew why bishops were tolerating this gay activist crap. In all candor, I'm so fed up with this whole story that I'm ready to take to the streets. Clearly, Dignity is mounting a major campaign against Catholic teaching at the upcoming episcopal conference, and they have the support of the secular gay activist groups and the media. Unless we make our views known to the bishops now, the perverts will be the ones orchestrating the debate.

It's kind of like McCain calling himself a practicing Republican

That is one of the funniest McCain lines I have ever heard.

If you're chaste, celibate and have homosexual impulses and want to be accepted by the Church then shut up about it. No one cares.

You have just stated the entire problem with these folks. It sort of reminds me of "Dear, does this dress make me look fat?"

Excellent idea. I am certain that SF gay churches will be vocal and in attendance.

Why don't they do what other religions have done- just branch out and make their own rules. Leave out the rules or commandments that are not agreeable to them.

Dignity's website says this (and in this color):

The Catholic Church should stand for love and justice, not hate. End the bigotry now!

Anyone want to bet $20.00 on these people demanding justice for the boys who were sodomized (other than feckless platitudes) Hello? Anyone?

The homosexual or "gay rights" movement has essentially borrowed and adopted the protest "style" of the civil rights movement, the anti-Vietnam war movement, and the feminist movement of the 1960s. It is structured as an "activist" and media relations propaganda campaign. The activists actually seem to enjoy shocking middle-class Americans (or Catholics, in this case)with their antics. This "in-your-face" mentality seems to have something to do with the emotional and psychological disorder which goes along with the orientation. Acting out in street demonstrations and speaking to the media at bishops' conferences, for instance, are sort of "therapy" for them in that it makes them think their movement is more socially significant than it actually is (in terms of numbers). If you compare this to the behavior of Islamic militants who take to the streets or blow up buildings and airplanes occasionally, there are some similarities. The issues are peripheral, tertiary, and don't concern most Americans on any kind of regular basis. Before the current sex scandals, for instance, how often did you think about sodomy or gay sex of any kind? Only when some media event brought them into public view probably. This is as much about delusions of "self-importance" as anything else. We can feel sorry for them without accepting any part of their agenda.

It is really an emotional illness, psychotherapy, and hygiene problem of a small minority of the population. This never had to become a "Catholic" problem on page one if bishops and other church leaders had done their job 20 or 30 years ago. Who, for instance, will be representing Catholics suffering from cancer or schizophrenia at the Dallas conference? Sexual disorders should be handled privately by psychiatrists, physicians, and local health departments.

Mary Louise Cervone has been a practicing Roman Catholic all her life and, as a lesbian....

You (and some others) gave me such a nice response last time, I'm trying for 2 for 2.

How can this be? The RCC has one position on homosexual conduct, doesn't it? Why is she still an RCC? What hasn't she been excommunicated?

Wow ... the "crucifix" says it all where their god is concerned.

You mean this one.....

This is what is wrong with this picture:

On that cross, Christ died for all of our sins, mine included. This dribble you hear about the Jewish people being "Christ Killers" is the worst--we ALL killed Him. We all have sinned, and fallen short of the glory of God.

But to take little purple triangle symbol they use to pervert that symbol of sacrifice has a "its all about ME perversion to it. No--it isn't about them and their sexual dysfunction. It is about what Christ did for all of humanity.

He suffered greatly. Here is just an exerpt:

The crucifixion begins. Jesus is offered wine mixed with Myrrh, a mild analgesic mixture. He refuses to drink. Simon is ordered to place the patibulum on the ground and Jesus is quickly thrown backward with His shoulders against the wood. The legionnaire feels for the depression at the front of the wrist. He drives a heavy, square, wrought-iron nail through the wrist and deep into the wood. Quickly he moves to the other side and repeats the action, being careful not to pull the arms too tightly, but to allow some flexion and movement. The patibulum is then lifted into place at the top of the stipes and the titulus reading, "Jesus of Nazareth, King of The Jews" is nailed in place.

The left foot is pressed backward against the right foot, and with both feet extended, toes down, a nail is driven through the arch of each, leaving the knees moderately flexed. The Victim is now crucified. As He slowly sags down with more weight on the nails in the wrist, excruciating, fiery pain shoots along the fingers and up the arms to explode in the brain--the nails in the wrist are putting pressure on the median nerves. As He pushes Himself upward to avoid this stretching torment, He places His full weight on the nail through His feet. Again, there is the searing agony of the nail tearing through the nerves between the metatarsal bones of the feet.

At this point, another phenomenon occurs. As the arms fatigue, great waves of cramps sweep over the muscles, knotting them in deep, relentless, throbbing pain. With these cramps comes the inability to push Himself upward. Hanging by His arms, the pectoral muscles are paralyzed and the intercostal muscles are unable to act. Air can be drawn into the lungs, but cannot be exhaled. Jesus fights to raise Himself in order to get one short breath. Finally, carbon dioxide builds up in the lungs and in the blood stream and cramps partially subside. Spasmodically, He is able to push Himself upward to exhale and bring in the life-giving oxygen.

Dan, the AP says she's a 'practicing Catholic'. She very likely makes the same claim. Anyone who understands the Catholic (or any other Christian) teachings regarding homosexuality, would say that she is living in a state of unrepented, habitual, serious sin. In other words, she and the AP aren't telling the truth. Why hasn't she been excommunicated? I'm not sure where she's from. If she's from the Diocese of Lincoln, Nebraska she has been excommunicated, as have all other members of "Dignity", "Call to Action", "Catholics for Free Choice", and a handful of other unrepentantly heretical organisations. If she's from someplace else, the reason is that her bishop, unlike Bp. Fabian Bruskewicz, is a wimp. Does that cover it?

"This "in-your-face" mentality seems to have something to do with the emotional and psychological disorder which goes along with the orientation."

Is This Gay Behavior Sick?

"Let´s look at gay behavior as defined by two gays, Marshall Kirk and Hunter Madsen Ph.D., authors of After the Ball: How America will Conquer its Fear and Hatred of Gays in the 90´s (1989).

In Chapter Six, they outline “ten categories of misbehavior,” drawn from their own experiences, wide reading and thousands of hours of conversation with hundreds of other gays... .

•  They say gays suffer from a “narcissistic” personality disorder and they give this clinical description: “pathological self absorption, a need for constant attention and admiration, lack of empathy or concern for others, quickly bored, shallow, interested in fads, seductive, overemphasis on appearance, superficially charming, promiscuous, exploitative, preoccupied with remaining youthful, relationships alternate between over idealization and devaluation.”..."

Imagine someone fitting that character profile, with access to church funds, roaming around as a "priest."

I never thought about gays having narcissistic personality disorder but that makes perfect sense. That fits many if not all of the gays I've met. Good catch.

Many Bishops, and possibly Cardinals, must exist homosexual in nature. What a neat organisation for homosexuals..
