I think the facts speak for themselves. An interesting commentary on the cultural differences between the "Semites".

Although this is interesting, the Nobel people have lost all credibility. They gave the Peace Prize to Arafat and Perez one year -- and regret giving to Perez!!!

Yeah. If I were standing on the 98th floor of Tower One of the World Trade Center after that plane hit the building, I'd realize that all the Nobel Prizes in the world weren't going to do me much good.

Does this explain the preponderance of Jewish lawyers, too? Or Jewish jewelers?

If the Arabic peoples are not out there winning secular awards, maybe it's because they are more interested in spiritual endeavors.

Arab mathematicians and scientists led the world 1000 years ago. Many sciientific advances in Europe of the past 300 years were essentially rediscoveries of work that had been done long before. Even something so basic as Snell's sine law of refraction was rediscovered through Alhazen's work centuries earlier.

But then something happened to the great Islamic civilization, and make no mistake, it was the most advanced on earth at the time. A lot of the destruction took place in present day Iran and Iraq and was done by the Mongol Hordes. They burned it to the ground. It's been hard to recover from that, and it will be impossible to recover with quasi-religious bandits destroying everything they touch.

Here is one glaring omission that caught my eye immediately. In 1979 three, not two were physicists awarded the prize: Sheldon Glashow, Steven Weinberg, and Abdus Salam.

They received the price for

"their contributions to the theory of the unified weak and electromagnetic interaction between elementary particles, including, inter alia, the prediction of the weak neutral current".

Even a non-scientist like me knows that the work of these three is in a category of its own.

Also from the official Nobel Web site, this bio on Salam:

Abdus Salam is known to be a devout Muslim, whose religion does not occupy a separate compartment of his life; it is inseparable from his work and family life. He once wrote: "The Holy Quran enjoins us to reflect on the verities of Allah's created laws of nature; however, that our generation has been privileged to glimpse a part of His design is a bounty and a grace for which I render thanks with a humble heart."

There may be other inaccuracies in your list, but I haven't the time to check.

Finally, remember what the fine print in the mutual fund sales brochures says: "Past performance is no guarantee of future results."

And your point is?? (Just kidding)

The Muslims peaked 400 years ago and haven't contributed anything since they founded some of basics in math several hundred years ago.

Great although 1,000 years ago they were very advanced, I and my family live NOW!

And NOW I cannot get on a plane and visit the Church of the Nativity or Jerusalem!

But the 1000 years ago crowd can visit Mecca and Medina!

Intelligence is a great gift and the Jews are blessed with it, but just being smart doesn't necessarily make you morally right.

Fritz Haber is one of the Jews on that list. He won the Nobel prize for chemistry for his invention of electrolysis of water and then turned his attentions to developing poison gasses for the Kaiser. Ironically the man who invented modern chemical warfare was himself gassed in the holocaust.

One could bring up other Jews that were also brilliant and brought the world nothing but suffering like Lenin and Trotsky.

I'm not trying to imply that Jews are evil geniuses, (they have contributed greatly to mankind), just stating that you can't equate someones humanity with their intelligence.

A few years back, I saw Charles Murry on This Week with David Brinkley. His co-authored book The Bell Curve was quite in the news.

Richard Herrstein also helped write it--and they discovered that Jews were in the top, top, top section of intelligence from a statistical perspective. Herrstein also tested for an IQ of over 160 himself.

It was very controversial, because Asians also were found to be of high intelligence, followed by those of European descent, with blacks and hispanics on the lower end of the curve (statistically).

They are not the only "Semites" on the planet, you are forgetting the tribe of Joseph who worship the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

They are mostly from the Europe that have arrive in America. Not to take anything away from Judah, for Judah are only 1 of 12 tribes of Israel, the are 11 other tribes of Israel.

I am sorry to pour out a little rain on your parade: Boris Pasternak could not be considered Jewish, because he was a (devoted) Russian Orthodox beliver. And it seems to me that both Kapitsa and Tamm were not Jewish either, however, I am not sure about it.

They missed the most important two people in the list:

Judaism - Jesus

Islam - Mohammad

One is the Son of God, the other is a murderer and fraud.

That about wraps it up and we can go watch the ball game now, right?
