Every vegetarian I have ever met is stark, staring mad.

Meat is required for mental stability.

I am beginning to think that vegetarianism should be outlawed.

Funny, guy, but true. Hitler (you know, Adolf) was a strict vegetarian...so sentimental about animals that, for example, he cried for days when his pet canary died. All that tenderness towards animals seems to have helped him psych up for the murder of millions of human beings. (He didn't drink or smoke either...)

Laz, my hubby would probably not eat meat--or very little--if he had a chance. Why? Because he grew up on a dairy farm. They'd slaughter a critter & that's what they'd eat, from tail to snout. When that was gone, they'd slaughter another critter. He, along with at least two of his sisters, turn their collective noses up at prime rib, steak and roasts, and really don't like burgers. It didn't help that his Mom was and continues to be a lousy cook. A great baker, but when I saw her put a prime rib into a roaster, dump a can of cream of mushroom soup followed by a quart of water over it all, & I almost cried. It's nothing ideological with them. But 15-20 years of lousy meat cooking will do it to ya.

Now vegans are weird. I even knew a guy who was a fruititarian (only ate fruit--well, until he had some rather interesting digestive problems). Then there are macrobiotics....lots of brown rice, corn, other grains & whatever veggies (and some fruits) that are in season, unless they go on a cleansing diet, and that's only brown rice. The guy I knew who was macrobiotic ended up turning a very nice shade of orange from eating a bit too much carrots and squash. He looked positively cirrhotic.

"what happens to animals in factory farming is not right".

One shot, one kill. Get yer own supper.
Reckon a good, accurate laser-scope is quite the useful tool in the prevention of animal suffering.

The vegies always seem to claim a moral high ground because thay don't eat meat. They feel the're better than anyone else. My daugthers had dated a few and they are all the same; Blameless and judgmental.

Here's the link to the other thread & the post on GroenFront. If you click on the link, you can go to their English translation. I can get the gist of what they're saying because I can read German & Dutch is close, but it helps to read the English translation.

That they do. But do you think that they realize the torture they put vegetation through in order to feed themselves? Poor ol' John Barleycorn (for those that remember that old song). :^)

Yes, good night. Quite by coincidence, I happen to be listening to the first number of Schubert's Winterreise, "Gute Nacht," as sung by Peter Anders in 1945. He and his pianist-producer, Michael Raucheisen, made the recording in March 1945 in bombed-out Berlin. I had thought Fischer-Dieskau doing Winterreise was good, but Anders is something else.

Out of suffering can come beauty.

Actually, der Adolf wasn't a completely strict vegetarian. When he ate at his favorite Munich restaurant, the Vier Jahreszeiten, he generally had Leberknödelsuppe (liver dumpling soup). However, it must be said in his defense that liver dumpling soup can be absolutely delicious.

I like the following:

"I left that place, I didn't want to be inconsistent any longer."

Killing animals:bad. Killing people:good.

I hope so. His death must not be in vain. We in the Netherlands must keep his dream alive. I know we have to go on without him, towards to direction he pointed.

None of what this guy says justifies him engaging in murder.

My wife had ben a vegetarian for 17 years when she married me.
I can't account for any other reason.
She still loves me now that I feed her bacon and BBQ. :)
