Are Parents Boycotting Public Schools? This one is.
As is this one -- with the result that the oldest is now in college on a full academic scholarship.

You'll just never understand Libertarians, I'm afraid. See, we actually believe in individual freedom. So here we are defending home schooling -- not because we believe the nutty values some homophobic parent will teach their kids, but because we believe homophobic parents have the right to teach their kids their nutty values.
Socialist liberals don't believe you have that right. Socialist conservatives don't believe liberals have a right to teach tolerance to homosexuality, etc.
So Libertarians are the true individualists, while liberals and conservatives are socialists fighting over which brand of socialism to impose with the force of the state.

As parents remove their children from the public schools, however, governmental resistance to alternative education will probably increase. The most vulnerable alternative is likely to be homeschooling. Stories such as that of California mom Sandra Sorenson may become more common. This is what I am concerned about. It is imperative that the left indoctrinate the children. As they have gotten their programs into the schools, parents have moved their children out. When the left wakes up to how many children have been removed from their influence, they will viciously start to attack hs and private schooling. Look for them to start with attacking content ("approved curriculum") because they must control the children's minds.

Don't be afraid ... I petitioned for Roger MacBride in 1976 in North Carolina, Kansas, Texas, Arizona, California and Wyoming, and worked on the Dick Randolph, Bruce Boyd (the other two fellows' names escape me at the moment) Alaska campaign in 1978.

My kids are in their last month of public school(kindergarten and 2nd grade) They will be going to private Christian school next year. Its very sad though that some parents simply cannot afford anything but public school. Vouchers would be great.

Nice point
I personally think home schooling has alot of problems too
However, every parent has the responsibility to see that their kids are educated.
Now.....
Give us back our tax dollars!!!

They public school system started downhill big time when they made it illegal to paddle their little butts when they got out of line.

A small "l" libertarian I suspect. Don't believe Fritz is on the Libertarian Party page.

A small "l" libertarian I suspect. Don't believe Fritz is on the Libertarian Party page. You're joking, right? He founded Advocates for Self-Government -- a pro-Libertarian outreach operation. Not only is he on the Libertarian page, he wrote a few of the paragraphs.

Still find it difficult to believe someone with Marshall's religious views voted for Harry Browne and support the Libertarian platform or party. Yes, he is libertarian when it comes to education. I doubt he is when it comes to drugs, pornography, immigration and several other issues. If he is, I would appreciate links to his writings on those subjects.

Still find it difficult to believe someone with Marshall's religious views voted for Harry Browne and support the Libertarian platform or party. There is no moral conflict between holding Christian religious views and believing in a free society.
In fact, according to a literal reading of the Christian Bible, NO ONE besides true Christians are going to escape eternity in a lake of fire. So all those Jews and Pagans and Islamics and Hindus and, well, all of 'em, are not going to be saved by religious earthly laws anyhow.
So from the Christian point of view, laws are only to make life nicer for believers -- they don't save anyone in eternity. It is sort of a personal comfort in this lifetime deal.
I guess Fritz doesn't see that as a moral imperative to impose on other people who are going to hell no matter what.

My children have never sat in a government welfare school/youth indoctrination center classroom. They never will. The revolution began years ago, it is only just picking up steam now.
Yes, my family has to sacrifice a number of material things to homeschool, we have to face the suspicion of the agents of the state, and tolerate the derision of our more "learned" and "enlightened" friends, neighbors, and family members. But we know that we're right and that whatever consequence we have to face to assert our freedom to raise and educate our children in the manner we see fit - it will be worth it.
