Saudi traders working in foodstuffs said that their sales of American products decreased by 25% during recent times following the calls made to boycott the American commodities. A campaign which started to receive serious and positive response by the Saudi citizens.
The owner of one establishment which is specialized in selling sweets and biscuits byproducts told the Saudi daily al-Watan that his sales of American sweets have been notable decreased during the two past months, noting that he started to face pressures from his clients to halt his dealings with the American products in addition to receiving several inquiries from visitors of his shop who always ask about the nationality of the products he exhibits because they want to avoid buying the American production.
In the same context, a Belgian trade official disclosed that Saudi businessmen are making contacts to import Belgian commodities in order to replace the American commodities which started to receive turn off by local consumers.
Meantime, other reports said all American products are being effected "An agent for American luxury cars has had to offer huge and unprecedented discounts to encourage customers to buy what used to sell like hot cakes in the Gulf states." A report issued by the National Council for Arab-American Ties said that the boycott of American products would force US investors to pressure the White House into changing its approach to the region. The report, excerpts of which were published last month in the Nasserite Al-Arabi weekly newspaper, said that American businesses and giant corporations have significant interests in the Arab world. A boycott, however informal, would deal them a painful blow.

Yawn . . . We didn't expect to sell much to them anyway after we nuke 'em.

I guess I'll just have to start buying more biscuit byproducts, whatever that is.

Let's return the favour by boycotting their oil. Norway, Russia, Canada and Mexico could use the cash.
To: LibWhacker
It's not like J. Crew was sending a lot of merchandise over there anyway! THe Saudis are ridiculous hypocrits, we sell them so much military hardware, protect their oil fields (their only product) and then they pay suicide bomber families and say the US is the devil.
Whatever.
To: LibWhacker
Are these people boycotting medicine made in the USA too? Methinks not.
To: LibWhacker
Its time to pull out of Saudi Arabia! Lets see how well they fare with Saddam on their own.

Are these people boycotting medicine made in the USA too? Methinks not. They're such base hypocrites. They curse the West, then they come here to party. They preach purity, then they import Phillipine sex slaves. These guys make me sick. God help us.

Saudi Arabia is a useless garbage dump of humanity, the arabs a sea of lazy, unimaginative, unproductive, unsanitary oafs, in desprate need of a good thermo-nuclear cleansing! They are so easy to hate its almost as if satan himself had been their sire, you have to admit with their hooked noses they certainly look the part!

They'll love our newest mission: Operation Kill Them All and Let God Sort it Out.
This thread will self-destruct in five minutes.

I didn't say boycott them. I said we should pull the troops out. If they want to boycott us, then that's their right. I'm a Classical Liberal, (anti-war, free-markets supporter), so I don't see what your point is.

I bet the moron arabs are buying Mercedes and Jags believing they have nothing to do with America. Maybe they will boycott our grain too so they can eat sand.
To: FBDinNJ
Saudis can keep this up and we can add them to the evil nations. Since they did 911 with their people.

Maybe they will boycott our grain too so they can eat sand. That would be cruel and unusual, having them eat sand. Now, if anyone in the scientific establishment can come up with a grain that is reasonably nutritious but also a nausea-inducing laxative, the Sauds might be supplied with the right kind of food...

Many people are comparing our current President to FDR. I don't actually know anyone who has ever said such a thing, but if you do you might let them know that sniffing glue isn't good for you.
To: LibWhacker
Yes, it is time to nuke them now.

I find it difficult to take seriously people who constantly wear those pizzeria tablecloths on their heads.
Let them drink their oil!!

Q Ari, how does the President hope to convince Prime Minister Sharon that he has to deal with Yasser Arafat? What's his message going to be?
MR. FLEISCHER: Well, the same way, Kelly, that the President has messages that he works very hard, and the State Department works very hard every day in convincing the Palestinian Authority and the Arab neighbors, as well -- through the long and patient art of diplomacy. I don't think anybody can look at one meeting as a magic moment. I think that people are going to want to look at the meeting today and the meeting he had with Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince, the meeting tomorrow with King Abdullah, phone calls he makes as all part of an ongoing, lengthy process which is starting to bear at least some fruit.
Q But when Mr. Sharon is expected to say that future negotiations between the Israelis and Palestinians cannot include Yasser Arafat, how is the President going to --
MR. FLEISCHER: Well, let's see. Allow the meeting to take place. Let's see exactly what the Prime Minister says to the President. You'll have your opportunity to ask questions of the President after the meeting, and as well, we'll provide other information once the meeting is over.
Q Does the administration have any evidence that the Saudis have been giving money to Hamas or to the families of Palestinian suicide bombers? Does the U.S. have any evidence of that? MR. FLEISCHER: Secretary Powell said Sunday when he was asked the exact same question, and nothing has chanced since then, we have raised that matter with the Saudis; the Saudis have given us assurances that they are not doing that. And the United States accepts those assurances.

As well as the inuit of ANWR, Turkmenistan, etc, etc.

"Let's return the favour by boycotting their oil. Norway, Russia, Canada and Mexico could use the cash." ANWR has the equalivent of 30 years of Saudi imports. We need to drill now!

The major oil company that uses the lowest amount of Saudi oil is SHELL.

Maybe its time for some constructive colonialism. Like putting the Saudi oil fields (and their income) into more responsible hands.
Ours.

How big a threat is that, in your estimation? Is the euro up and kicking well enough for them to do that? Is there some connection between this and EU's pro-palestinian posture? What would the US do to counter this effect?
I've never considered that, and it is unsettling.
Thanks

It'll be great to see how Americans handle the world wide depression they are creating. Create War, stop trade. Now there's a combination. Many people are comparing our current President to FDR. Well, FDR created those two conditions. I guess the comparison is apt. huh? What world wide depression? Create War? I don't remember doing that. Weren't 3,000 americans murdered by Islamic militant terrorists. How is defending yourself, suddenly the same as creating war? Stop Trade? I and most americans support free trade. I've heard Bush compared to Reagan but this is the first I've heard him compared to FDR.
