What a wonderful article about Jeb Bush. Thanks for posting it. I appreciate the Bush brothers' commitment to education and to children tremendously, and I've appreciated the many articles that you've posted. Please keep it up. I work teaching reading to at-risk students, and I couldn't be a stronger supporter of the Governor and President's push for standards and accountability in public education! I chuckled, too, when I read in the article that Gov. Bush explained to the student that his history book was incorrect in its explanation of the contras. The bias in middle and high school history books today is unbelievable. I helped choose a 20th century history text for middle school, and we had a very hard time finding one that even came close to being balanced and accurate. Lynne Cheney is correct that we need to read and discuss history with our children in order to provide them with the true version.

BUMP!! This is really a wonderful article Summer! Jeb's awesome!

I'm so glad that Frank Brogan is lit. Gov. Originally the pick was Sandy Mortham who stepped down because of scandal and wound up running against Katherine in the primaries and losing.

lit. gov. Brogan is a riot all the things he does like switching the candles on Jeb's cake to read 94 etc.

Katherine said in her interview with James Dobson that she talked to Brogan about how if Gore had been leading in 2000 and the counties had been in the Panhandle, she still would have had to do the same thing and he said "oh, really?" hehe.

''I don't know if there's anything better than helping to improve the life of a child,'' McFadden said. ``That's at the heart of why he does it.''

This (sniff) was beautiful. Jeb is teaching men how to be fathers, as well as mentors (sniff). Thanks, summer.

Thanks for your interesting post there! I'm glad you mentioned Lt Gov Frank Brogan. I think Gov Bush made a very wise choice in 1998 when he selected Brogan as running mate.

For those who would like to read about Brogan's background, which I think is fascinating, click here.

Thanks again for sharing all that, katherine! :)
