The Israelis better not put these guys on an intravenous IV. At least not until they suffer brain damage from lack of food. Oh wait. Thats already happened.

How many devout young Christian Americans would have given anything for the chance to visit the birthplace of their Lord, and other places connected with His life... and to pray there, but due to anti-Christian economic discrimination will never be able to...

While this leftist scum from Marin County and Seattle and the like privileged suburbs fly over there as if it were pocket change, to aid and abet the destroyers of Christianity and to side with Satan.

It is indeed time for Jesus/Yeshua to return.

Look how pale and wimpy and near emaciated these types were before they even WENT to Israel, or STARTED a hunger strike. I think they are all living on bird seed.

One way or another their life style is FOR the birds.

This guy's got to be kidding? He collapses after only nine days? Sounds to me like he's staging it so they'll remove him from the jail.

Note that these hard-left Marxist fellow travelers funded by the communist front group, the International Solidarity Movement, are always called "activists" or "internationals" in the biased liberal media. Anyone to the right of the mainstream media, politically, usually get the pejorative, "extreme right-wing", as a prefix to their name or organization.

He was refusing to drink liquids.  Of course, if they haul him away to a hospital, they'll put him in four-point restraints and rehydrate him.  THEN they can put his butt on a plane and send him back to the states.
U.S. activist in Israeli jail collapses from hunger strike

An American activist held in an Israeli jail has collapsed nine days into a hunger strike protesting his detention, his lawyer said Saturday.

Trevor Baumgardner from Seattle, Washington, was among a group of pro-Palestinian activists who attempted to enter the Church of the Nativity compund in Bethlehem on May 2. Ten made it into the church in defiance of Israeli troops. Thirteen other members of International Solidarity Movement - a group devoted to focusing attention on the Palestinians - were arrested, nine of whom have been deported. The remaining four, all U.S. citizens, are on a hunger strike in an Israeli jail.

Allegra Pachecco, an American-Israeli human rights lawyer who was representing the group, identified the three American activists imprisoned with Baumgardner as Thomas Koutsoukos from Lake Forest, Illinois, Nathan Musselman from Roanoke, Virginia and Nathan Muegher from Spokane, Washington. On Saturday, her clients informed her that Baumgardner, who has refused to drink water since Tuesday, had collapsed.

Georgina Reeves, a spokeswoman for the group, said three activists from the group arrested Friday have already been deported.

Now that he collapsed, the Israelis can pump him full of nutrients and bring him back to health. End of story.

Jerusalem Post squib May 12, 2002, 1733hrs

"According to media sources, seven foreign peace activists whom were arrested for entering the Church of Nativity are currently on hunger strike in their respective prisons."

I respect their right to starve themselves to death in performance of their humanitarian principles.

Humankind will thereby be improved.

I hope that the Israeli gaolers will abstain from intefering with this noble activity.

;-)
