There's little doubt that BMW makes some of the best and best-handling cars in the world; however, stuffing BMW bones, muscle and sinew into an updated Morris Minor skin makes me wonder: Who's gonna buy this? Is this a chick car or the latest next auto cult thing? Your bones may be the best in the world, but if you look like Hillary on the outside, who's gonna want to ............?

The four-cylinder, 115-horsepower engine has plenty of pickup and makes one wonder why anyone would need the Mini Cooper S model, which has 160-horse and goes 0 to 60 mph 11/2 seconds faster. Hmmmm...sounds good to me! One of my neighbors has a real Mini. I think it would fit in the back of my F-150!

My commuter mini-van with a 3.3 does better than 0 to 60 mph 11/2 seconds ... and that's uphill! &;-)

Wow! 0 - 60 in 1.5 sec. Got a NOX kit on that Caravan? ;-)

Agree on your panache comment and pic, 2T, but your posting to the wrong person on carving up twisties (whilst in the presence of a good woman, a good road, good music and a trunk full of picnic goodies :-)

Ya think they made a typo? Even a McLaren isn't that fast! LOL &;-)

I saw these three weeks ago at a demo for dealers in AC. It's more like a PT Cruiser Jr. than a real Mini-Cooper. More pep than a PT Cruiser but not anywhere near a real Mini. The interior is more like a PT Cruiser than anything else, imho.
They are competing for the PT Cruiser, new VW Beetle market share.

Hey, I saw one of these. Someone drove past our yard the other day in one. I couldn't decide if it were a toy or a real car.

I hear ya' ... Happy Trails! &;-)
To: bvw
It'll be a small market share in the USA, IMHO.

I saw a older rare Beemer yesterday -- a Vixen 21. 30 mpg!

That will make very few of these so the price may be unrealistic. I'd love to have one for my commute(3 miles) but I'm not paying list for it.

Price: $16,850 to $19,850. ... I dont know how realistic this is for 115 horses. &;-)

The light weight means it's a pocket rocket along the lines of the Honda CRX which was really fun to drive. It's SUV bait but I wouldn't take it on a highway anyway.

"Need not the reason!"

I still remember when my surfing-buddy(ocean-style)and good friend Steve Hilton picked up his Mini-Cooper S.I had a 65'GTO(with the works)and never really could understand the appeal of this almost toy-like car.It did corner like it was on tracks!!!
