We have a winner.

Here lies why this the reason why I think this story is a twofer - to hurt the President and Senator Edwards. Most of the media has been fawning over Edwards and now this story runs making Edwards look like a fool at the President is being asked if he could have avoided the murder of thousands. The linkage is intentional. The only thing missing now is a TV reporterette asking Edwards why he didn't prevent the 9/11 tradegy if he received the same briefing as the President. When that occurs, stick a fork in him.

We are seeing the thinning of the herd for 2004 Democratic Candidates. Just keep asking yourself who does this benefit. Remember, Bob Kerrey of Nebraska was a possible contender for 2004 until "someone" revealed to the media that he had some "questionable" military activities during his service as a SEAL in Viet Nam. Where is he now?

Edwards said on Good Morning America that "there should have been bells and whistles going off." Later, asked specifically whether the Senate Intelligence Committee had, in retrospect, failed to respond properly to threats that its members knew of, Edwards didn't answer.

So much for Edwards' overused buzzword---"leadership." BTW, did anybody see this interview? Did the Ambulance Chaser look like a frightened deer caught in the headlights when he failed to answer the question or did he just look like an idiot? I would love to see a video link posted of this interview.
