have you read anything about her body being found near a creek

The film clips on cable news recently showing the area being combed for clues, show the searchers down by a small creek. But I think her body was found further up the hill from the actual creek.

I guess I should face the fact that it's time to make a Chandra folder, huh? Then maybe I can find something I read within the last two hours.......LOL.

Condit met with Vice President Cheney at 12:30 p.m. for a private meeting lasting about 20 minutes. The meeting was over by 1:00 PM.
Condit returned to his office at 3:30 PM for meetings and phone conversations with constituents.
Condit left his office for a 5:00 PM doctor's appointment.

Where was Condit from 1 - 3 pm???? Are we to take his word that he returned to the office at 3? Who verified his presence? I think I read somewhere that his staff said sometimes he would disappear and they wouldn't know where he was (anyone else recall this?). I also thought I read that the 5pm doctor's appt. was actually for the next day - can someone verify that?

It seems that I read somewhere that the watch box had already been traced back to the other girl that gave it to Condit. I have always believed that IF Condit were innocent; he would not take the risk that his mistress had been killed by a serial killer, or a random act, and then lie about their affair. Anyone would know that IF something like that happened, the forensic evidence would blaze a trail to their doorstep.

If she was the person on her comp that day, and not set up to appear "obsessed" with Condit.

"If there was not a robbery involved; What happened to the watch and bracelet Condit gave Levy? Where were the mementoes most girls would keep from a relationship of this type?"

Maybe the killer took these items. That might deliberately eliminate hard evidence of the relationship, making it just hearsay or rumor.

"Does anyone suspect the apt.manager is involved?"

Police cleared the apartment manager. That of course is never "final" until the real perp is found.

Thanks for the chronology. Something that might be worth adding to it is that Bill Clinton's whereabouts at the time of Chandra Levy's disappearance are unknown. He was at an AIDS conference in Nigeria like five days before May 1, and his next known appearance was in Canada on May 2.

Something else that might be worth mentioning is that Condit was at President Bush's 100-day luncheon at the White House (at the president's table, no less!) on April 30.

"Third, this replacement-watch scenario is potentially easily checkable--all the police have to do is show the actual box they found to McKay and see if it's the same box she gave to Condit, or if it's a box for the same model watch she gave to Condit. If she doesn't remember, maybe it could be checked against the records at the store where she bought it."

Presumably, the police can examine prints on the watchbox. If it is the real gift box, both the giver's and Condit's prints will be present. If it is a later purchased watch, the box will not have the prints of the staffer-paramour who gave the original watch to him. Think about it.

Note that Condit's wife was in town on May 1. He could have gotten away from her by saying he was going out for a jog in the park. Both Condit's and Levy's apartments are adjacent to Rock Creek Park. Levy would have gone to meet Condit at his request. Levy obviously was trying to locate Klingle Mansion on the internet. The mansion is in the park. It would appear she was heading for a meeting. All this refocuses suspicion on Condit.

Arlington Va to Luray Va prints out here at 84 miles. About half of this would be on I-66, I presume, and the other half on US 211 which now is mostly a 4-lane divided affair...though there are hills and even one mountain.

One thing about the watch box. He claimed to be throwing it away in VA because the press was going through his trash at his condo. But later slipped and said that the box had been at his office. The press cannot go through the trash from his office. Congressional trash is not brought out for people to dig through sensitive stuff. It's incinerated on site. Condit lies again!

Has anyone asked Condit to SEE the watch that was in the box? Has anyone asked him about the $35,000 missing from his campaign funds? Did he buy another watch? If so, do the serial numbers match those on the original watch purchase? In the video pictures of Chandra w/her family she is wearing what looks to be a man's watch. Where is it now?

One more thing I'm remembering...When Condit called Anne Marie Smith from Luray, he said, "I may be in some trouble, I may have to disappear for a while". But he also said, (according to her), "You won't believe what they're trying to do to me".

If you take the last part and add it together with the missing keys, the scream, the obvious trail to Condit on her computer, (she was checking his Congressional Committees, etc), it would seem that it's possible Condit was being blackmailed and whoever was doing the blackmailing was not getting the info he wanted from Condit, (House Select Committee on Intelligence). Chandra disappears with a trail leading to the Congressman, sending a very clear message to Condit that he'd better start cooperating. It would clear him of murder charges, but absolutely make him more susceptible to obstruction charges.

I remember when the list of websites was released by the DCPD, they said that they were releasing a partial list and that some were being withheld because they could be evidenciary. Also, I think it was shown that Chandra didn't look up the Klingle Mansion specifically. She looked up Rock Creek Park via National Geographic, and the mansion is on the home page of the park, thus the speculation that the mansion might be a meeting place.

It would, and it's not outside the realm of possibility in order to throw the time line off, and to point to a staged attack in the park, to have the park as one of the places she checked out on her computer.

Personally, I think the content of those emails are pretty critical, just how personal or impersonal are they? Given the reputation of the FBI, you can no longer assume they have come to sound conclusions.

The same thought entered my mind. We have no idea who was researching Rock Creek Park. An excellent way to try and change the time of death if police fall for it.

Agreed, and a good line of thinking to pursue. But I do think right now the most likely scenario is Chandra sending those e-mails.

But I still wouldn't rule anything out yet.
