John King needs to be Freeped (Attn: DC Chapter, et: all)
CNN live 8:30 PM | 6/19/02 | AGreatPer(vert), Clinton, of course

Posted on 06/19/2002 8:08:05 PM PDT by AGreatPer

John King, the White House correspondent for CNN was reporting on the small plane that came close to the WH today. Twice, this piece of crap reporter who looks like he is going to sleep with every report he gives referred to our President as "Mr. Bush". He said, "Mr. Bush was in the White House".

Frankly, I never though a lot about John King's reporting because he is about as drab and ho-hum as they get. But this report was about a potential plane in the area that could possibly go after "Mr. Bush".

I remember John King specifically referring to the last piece of crap in that wonderful house as "President Clinton". So, John King, why is it that you know call the current resident "Mr. Bush"?

Heads up all visitors to the White House. There is an area to the right of the White House called "The Swamp" where these clowns do their reports, live on TV. Some are standing on a box, opps that's another story, and others arn't. But we need to give John King a message when reporting live to the rest of the world, "John King......IT IS PRESIDENT BUSH, NOT MR. BUSH."

Don't be surprised if John King doesn't hear you while Freeping. He is as low key as they get. I swear he is sleeping while reporting. But he has no right calling our President "Mr. Bush". I'm just wondering if he has been directed by CNN to do this?

He's not the only one who does it. Most of the morons on local Chicago tv stations refer to our President as Mr. Bush. David Navarro, who is an imbecile on local Fox News(not the good Fox News Channel that we don't get in my area - a tinfoil hat story for another day)constantly refers to our President by his last name only, no honorific. This is disgraceful. I am continually emailing and voicemailing these stations, to no avail.

My last resort is not to watch them anymore, which is not a big burden since they broadcast nothing but slanted crapola.

"He's not the only one who does it."

I haven't noticed it until tonight when this John King is out in front of the White House calling him "Mr Bush" when I had to listen to this clown King calling the last one President.

Many news reporting organizations refer to the president (or anyone else they report on) as Mr. XX. The practice appears to be a bit of a throwback to British reporting characteristics.

The New York Times is particularly memorable in regard to this convention - they once referred to Meat Loaf as "Mr. Loaf," and have always referred to politicans as "Mr. X."

The use of Mr/Mrs/Ms. is hardly a term of disrespect, even when referring to the President. I can't imagine anything less significant to get worked up over. Get a grip already!

Regards,
Snidely

Don't worry. Every network does it. They MUST start their first sentence by calling him President Bush, and then protocol says to refer to him as either just "The President" or "Mr. Bush throughout and close with President Bush.

Ok Snidely Whiplash, your point is well taken and will consider.

Here comes the "Howevr" bit. During his tenure, I never recall anyone calling him Mr. Clinton. It was always President.

Double standard here or media bias?

Exactly my point. Thank You.

I guess I will have to talk with the people at Media Research Center and Brent Bossell (sp?). Just wondering if they have tracked this?

Why do you watch CNN? I mean, the guy is a terrible reporter, but why do you watch CNN? Turn the dial to Fox.

"I mean, the guy is a terrible reporter"

Agreed. I mean, the man seems to be going to sleep every time he reports something. Or, is it he seems to want to cry before and during his reports.

But when the bastard says "Mr. Bush", it gets to me after he referred to President C during those years. What I gather, it is either intentional or just a product of his environment.

Yes, calling President Bush "Mr. Bush" is not disrespectful.
That is to all of us except the leftwing media mites. They derive smug satisfaction among themselves by not addressing Bush as President Bush. Their use of word "mister" when referring to President Bush is a code word among themselves that shows their common disdain of his being President of the United States.

By contrast, when the white trash psychopath was president, the same talking heads referred to the creep as president every time they uttered his disgusting name. I listened attentively for the word "mister", but it was NEVER used in reference to klinton.

I've watched maybe 10 minutes of CNN in the last month, max. John King is a known Bush wacker and should be FReeped regardless. I'll pay more attention to how he and other reporters use 'President' and 'Mr.' and see if I can observe a pattern.
