What Went Wrong is an excellent book. I suggest that everyone get a copy and read it. It takes less than a day to get thru it.

The monism of Islam, Lewis suggests, is also evident in its aversion to polyphonic music. In polyphony, voices and instrumentswhether in duets, trios, or full orchestraare following different routes in a common purpose. Different performers play together, from different scores, producing a result that is greater than the sum of its parts. Music is integral to Christian worship, forbidden in muslim worship. Congregational singing is reputed to be one of the things a muslim invited to your church will find most offensive to his sensibilities. So how best to evangelize muslims?
