Thanks, you made my day. Always good to hear the Duke's voice again. He said it with conviction, didn't he?

This performance, and others, are available on a CD at
Amazon.Com
I hope FREEPERS make it a best seller, just to send a message to the libs and their judges.

I have an old album of JW's Alamo. from that:
"Republic. I like the sound of the word. It means people can live free, talk free, go or come, buy or sell, be drunk or sober however they choose. Some words give you a feeling. Republic is one of those words that makes me tight in the throat."
Does anybody have that speech he made right before he nailed the Spanish chick, something like "You do the one you're living and you do the other you're as dead as a doorknob" or something like that. Then they played the "Green Leaves of Summer."
parsy.

My mother had that album. I committed that speech to memory:
I'm gonna tell you something... and I want you to listen tight. It may sound like I'm talking about me, but I'm not. I'm talking about you, I'm talking about all people everywhere.
When I first came down here to Texas I was looking for something. I didn't know what. You add it all up, it seemed I spent half my life stompin on other people, and in some cases gettin' stomped.
Had me some money, and had me some medals. But none of it seemed worth the pain of the mother that bore me. It was like I was empty.
Well I'm not anymore.
That's what's important. To lick against what's wrong and say word for what's right, even if you get whalloped for sayin' that word.
Now I may sound like a bible beater yelling up a revival at a river side camp meeting, but that don't change the truth of it none.
There's a right and a wrong in this world. You do the one and you're livin'. You do the other and you may be walkin' around, but you're dead as a beaver hat.

John Wayne could just read the back of a can of soup and still make almost every guy sound like a pansey in comparison.

Oh thank you! I haven't played it for years. It is hokey, but I like it. Amazing the things that freepers have in common. I don't think I have ever asked any question that a freeper hasn't been able to help with. parsy.

Does anybody have that speech he made right before he nailed the Spanish chick ...."He was coortin' a Spanish chick, and him married to my sister? I'll kill him."

Yep, and let me tell you he'd want the meat listed before the vegetables on that label!

Would he even worry about the vegetables being listed? I think not...

The Duke probably regarded chicken as a vegetable.
