so many young teens today who have been involved in school, sports, have many friends, appear happy, have everything going for them, have run away, are involved w/ drugs, and many are now resting eternally because they've committed suicide. What's that tell you.

It tells me you are dealing in generalities rather than the facts of this case.

Yes, my post was a bit ambiguous. Of course I did not mean that on the occasion of the abduction of Elizabeth the culprit also entered to burglarize. What I did mean is that breaking-and-entering rapists are often found to have committed burglaries on other occasions.Therfore, a known burglar is a person to check out re breaking-and-entering rapes or, as in this case, an abduction committed for the likely purpose of rape.Verbose compared to my original post, but I hope less ambiguous.

Actually, my post implied that he was followed only loosely over that 9-10 days by police, for they were hoping he would think himself cleared and passed over, and might lead them to Elizabeth or the actual perps.

I suspect he was followed only to the extent of making sure he did not flee or disappear...I think the Jeep-miles issue is bogus, I think it was only 500 miles over 17 days or so which is only par for the course for an American driver.

My own take on Ricci at the moment is that there is a 55% chance he is completely innocent in the Elizabeth matter; and only about 20% chance that he is really a causative actor, AOT a relatively minor abettor.

I check your thread daily hoping SLPD is closer to an answer. They are doing a good job under all the media scrutiny.

Perhaps the little sister saw a flashlight and not a gun (stranger or no would need some light to maneuver that house). Still cannot believe, between two siblings in their own home, did not cause noise to attract help. Did "the stranger" wear the driver's cap because the family was used to some chauffering? Is there a chauffer for any of the extended family or friends' families? Did "the stranger" tell Elizabeth she needed to go quietly with him that something was wrong with someone she knew?

This whole story is incredibly sad, and I don't know what I would do if that was my child.

BUT...

I am still left wonering why is it that this story gets so much coverage? Children are abducted every single day. What makes this little girl different from everyone other little girl and boy who is missing? I tend to think it's money. Her family is wealthy, if I recall. And if that's the case, this story is sad in more than one sense. I hope she comes home soon.
