Would you fight to "save LA" from a hispanic takeover?

Gasp!

You have a good point there. If you had said Hollyweird, you would even have a better one! Tough call!!

The same salami-slicing tactics would also apply to France; if you were a French Parisian, would you fight to save Marsailles? How about Lyon? Or Strasbourg? But Paris? Ah!

The point is,... the native French are about to lose their entire country and that without hardly firing a shot (at least until it is too late). The same can be said for the USA. At some point it must be translated from "over there" to "right here" and appropriate action taken. To fail in that is to lose it all.

What an excellent article! Thanks for posting!

Gritty, I agree with you entirely; America has got to wake up right now. But I'm not sure immigration is really the problem in this country. For example, we have a number of native born blacks who were recruited to Islam in prison, and now obviously feel themselves to be enemies of their own country.

Black Muslims used to be scorned by traditional Islam because they believed that Muhammed X (founder of the movement) was a prophet, and traditional Islam says that Muhammed (no X) was the last prophet. However, there seems to have been a reconciliation, and some former Black Muslims have even joined things like al Fuqra, an organization headed by the Pakistani Sheik al Gilani (known for his involvement in the death of Daniel Pearl, who was investigating al Fuqra when killed). So I'd say the problem isn't immigrants, it's Islam.

And yes, Aquinasfan, Muslims know God isn't dead. Granted, they have a wierd idea of Who He is. But since nobody else here, particularly in that left wing and too gay social services org that used to be concerned with preaching the Gospel - you know, the Catholic Church - is doing anything to offer them an alternative vision, I guess their's will prevail. Unless we get busy right now, that is.

This is a topic that is somewhat close to my heart. When I was a little kid in the 60s, we lived in France in a town outside of Paris. There were a few Algerians around at that time, and the women were seen out and about as much as the men. At the time, the women wore long dresses, and I remember their beautiful long, wavy hair flowing down their backs. There were only a few Algerians in France then, and I saw them as rather exotic people.

Time passed, and I was there in the mid-ninties. Had things ever changed!! There were many more Algerians, and the women were no longer seen. A good number of the men had become gang members and/or islamist extemists, and they were blowing up the metros in Paris and carrying out other assorted acts of terror. I really resented what had happened there. My mother still lives there, but she lives in a small town in the Loire valley where there are no Arabs, but towns such as Marseilles and Lille with their large Arab populations have terrible crime rates. It's like throwing in a bunch of pit bulls into a house full of poodles. When will people ever learn. You can't turn a sow's ear into a silk purse, no matter how hard you try.

When a crime is commited in France, it is now against the law to indentify the race of the culprit.

You can tell how civilized a people are by the way they treat their women and animals.

Another problem is the birthrate. The French don't have many children. However, the Arabs there have lots of children.

So I'd say the problem isn't immigrants, it's Islam.

I'll have to agree with you here.

The problem with Communism wasn't just the Soviet Union, it was with our own native spies and fellow-travelers (add Liberals in there, too).

Chuck Colson (Prison Fellowship) has gotten some press lately about how the radical Muslims are recruiting heavily in our prisons. These ex-cons will make admirable foot-soldiers in many ways. One doesn't even need to subscribe fully to Islam to work in it's behalf, just as Aldrich Ames or Richard Hanssen didn't need to be Communists to work effectively in it's behalf.

The point is, we have a very serious problem brewing which goes well beyond "catching" Bin Laden. We can easily catch him and wrap up a few networks and still lose the War. And that's what this is - a War for America as well as the rest of the world. But first, we have to recognize the enemy for who it is. So far, we don't seem to have done that, much as France has not done it.

Assimilation is failing all across Europe. Fact is the Euro-trash are PC-racists, shouting hypocritical liberal platitudes while their sneering elitism undergirds policies (and cultural attitudes) which close off the paths to assimilation which remain multitudinous and well-trodden in the "simplistic" United States.

It's like throwing in a bunch of pit bulls into a house full of poodles.

I agree with you! It is my own "pet" theory that the different races of Man have specific personalities just like different breeds of dogs do.

The French really are like French Poodles, while there are races of man that have a temperament that IS naturally more aggressive and territorial like a Pit Bull.

As for melting-pot Americans, perhaps we are the "mutts" of the world.

I cannot believe I have seen someone else besides myself verbalize that. I have thought since I was very young, that the different races, or sub-races, or ethnicities have distinct traits. These days that is considered racist and not at all PC to say so; you rarely hear of people studying anthropology anymore. However, if one thinks about it in an objective way, it's clearly probable the different groups formed their traits over thousands of years in relation to their environments. Of course there have been lots of mixtures of peoples though, and more so as time goes on.

I have lived in different places and been around many types of people. In high school, I was around a bunch of Irish-Americans who came from the SW counties of Ireland. They had a certain look, and a very distinct demeanor. Where I live now there are a certain race of Eskimos, and they are something different all together. And I suspect people from the area of the world around Afganistan and the mideast tend to be a bit aggressive, because of the way they are situated geographically. Only the very tough and warlike survived because of having to spend thousands of years fending off invaders. On the other hand, the Eskimos here are extremely peaceful and confrontation is taboo. They spent thousands of years in a relatively isolated and harsh, cold environment, and cooperation was extremely important for survival. So they tend to be very gentle people.

Studying people has sort of been a life-long hobby of mine. I do believe we are all God's creatures, and we all have strengths and weaknesses, and of course we all have our own individual personalities.

Uhh, I think you meant to post that on another thread...unless I'm just not seeing the connection between France's Muslim problem and Washington D.C. statehood...

Not just by the Left, are those idiotic policies defended. In fact, Christopher Caldwell himself, the neo-con author of this very interesting article, recently blasted Patrick J. Buchanan's the Death of the West. So did numerous other so-called conservatives such as Jonah Goldberg and Jeff Jacoby.

France's least observant Muslims, Tribalat found, were Algerians, among whom 10 percent of men and 18 percent of women constituted a religious-conservative "hard core." That is still double the proportion of French Catholics who practice their religion at all. Half of Turkish immigrants to France practice their religion, a figure far above that of Turks who remain at home.

I could not help noticing this.

If this statistic is to be believed, it may be confirmation of what David Pryce-Jones (author of "The Closed Circle") claims, i.e. that the problems in Arab culture predate Islam and continue to this day. How else to explain that while Turkish immigrants to France are much more observant than Arabs, they are apparently at the same time more law-abiding and better integrated into French society?

Could you imagine a poll taken in the US that said that 43% of all Americans think there are too many blacks? The press would have a conniption.

Not only that, I'd like to know what % of France is black. What's their tolerance threshold?
