"It's a very bizarre case because this man is unknown to the community and was not part of any organization," said Salam Al-Marayati, director of the council. "At this point it just seems like the work of a deranged individual." I bet they say that about all of their terrorist friends.
Of course he wouldn't openly "belong" to a local organization or register as a member at a mosque...his orders from Osama and company are to blend in, do not draw attention to yourself.
Just like the murderers from 9-11 when they lived in Florida.

One thing I don't know: are non-citizens able to legally own firearms in the U.S.?

Let's get thyis straight. This Egyptian does not belong to "an organization" so this is not "terrorism".
By this parameter, McVeigh was not a terrorist. Do the Fumbling Bumbling Idiots really think the average citizen is that stupid?

After the FBI released his name as the gunman, members of the Muslim Public Affairs Council in Los Angeles began calling members and mosques in suburban Orange County where he lived. No one recognized his name."It's a very bizarre case because this man is unknown to the community and was not part of any organization," said Salam Al-Marayati, director of the council. "At this point it just seems like the work of a deranged individual."
How very public-spirited of MPAC to aid the FBI in insuring that no one remembers Hadayet. Of course, MPAC would very much like to prove Israel's claim that this was terrorism, and they are doing everything in their power to help. </sarcasm

The government granted special permission for El Al to fly on the Sabbath so passengers could get to Israel quickly. Israel's national airline is normally prohibited by law from flying during the Jewish holy day, which lasts from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday.
