WOW! Thanks for a most enlightening article, JeanS.
Right now I'm wading through the Oregon Natural Heritage Plan. It's going to take a bit of time to peruse, but it's well worth it.
I found it during a google search...I can't believe how many pages of "heritage areas" there are.
This is worldwide...I now believe this is part of a UN plan.

countrydummy, thanks so much for the ping. I may have never known about it otherwise. I am so sorry for the troubles the people of Hinton are having. Please, can you explain more about how the gov't is going about this in your area?

Dear Dixie, were would I start? Basically the road was in severe need of repair, we asked to get it done, and then it turned into the nightmare of a life time. What was supposed to be just a simple re-paving and a little widening of a country road turned into a massive land grab in WV! Now that is the simple version of it here in and around Hinton.....the complications come from the NPS, US Fish and Wildlife, DNR, EPA, etc. and so on.....using such items as Heritage Areas, Scenic Byways, Scenic Parkways, Historical sites and so on and so on.....but the main issue about all of these so called programs, is to steal land away from the landowners! Period! That is the whole reason for all of them!
